Warning: Spoilers
"The Welcome Protocol" benefited greatly from sitcom veteran Wendie Malick guest starring as a boss, and she instantly provided some laughs playing a combination of a stuck up New York socialite and her Hot in Cleveland character, but overall the material is just not working this season. They seem to not have the ideas for 20 episode seasons and I can't see How I Met Your Father going beyond a third on Hulu as a result.

A few funny moments, but this show is just not living up to what it could be. An absolute shame considering at times it has shown promise, but cannot consistently bring the laughs.

It's not a HIMYM replacement but it works really well!

The thing that I loved about HIMYM, which is why I watch this show, is that the friends had such elaborate back stories that made their storylines more fun. The Welcome Protocol goes hard on that concept and I adored it.

The schemes and misunderstandings, the characters are silly enough to laugh with, and it makes sense as much as How I Met Your Mother ever did. I just really appreciated the feelings that a group of friends who have rules and fun together and make those rules part of their everyday lives. Also the ending was hilarious. The actor playing Jessie feels like the heart of the show.

A Realistic Review Of The 9th Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I liked the idea of Welcome Protocol & Fake Emergency Protocol.

Now there are some things that I have problem with.

Val ended up not bringing Sophie's coat or dress which I think wasn't nice and wasn't even explained by the episode. Why didn't she give her dress back? She didn't even use the dress! So she should've given it back to Sophie or at least answered the texts or calls!

Didn't quite understand why Jesse was not feeling it with Dana since they didn't even have one scene together privately. So the break up felt sudden and forced.

The episode seemed rushed too.

All things considered, it was an OK episode for me.
