The lines show a marking for the three-point line which at the time did not exist in 1958. The three-point shot was first used around 1961 in the ABL and adopted more heavily upon the inception of the ABA in 1967. It wasn't until 1979 that the NBA adopted the three-point shot and even later in college basketball.
