Created as promotion for "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare," this MTV special is hosted by a camera-mugging Freddy Krueger, features clips galore from the "Elm Street" series and comments from numerous crew members from the films. As "The Freddy Krueger Story," it's a well-made (albeit cheesy and dated) TV documentary but as promotion for the film it's sorely lacking. Aside from a brief interview with Alice Cooper, there are no other cast members (from any of the movies) featured and even the fleeting glimpses of behind-the-scenes footage from the sub-par "Making of Freddy's Dead" TV special are absent. The last few minutes are devoted to clips from the film and comments from director Rachel Talalay and writer Michael De Luca. A lot of what's said is covered in other documentaries so it's really only worth seeking out to see Robert Englund in-character.
