Learn more- A nation divided awaits the results. The experts have given their opinions. The votes have been cast. All that remains is to learn the outcome. Hanging in the balance: the future of the 11th season of "Dancing with the Stars."
There is, however, another voting process to sort through as the 2010 midterm elections are underway across the nation. Host Tom Bergeron kicks it to ABC News affiliates for the first update on election returns. When we return, head judge Len Goodman asks for Team Apolo to do an encore performance.
To the results: Brandy & Maks and Bristol & Mark are called to the stage. During the recap of Monday's events, we see that Bristol became emotional about missing home and her son. The first couple safe is Brandy & Maks, but Bristol & Mark are still in jeopardy.
'Dancing with the Stars' Awards: The first of the time-chewing awards presented throughout the evening is the "Most Dramatic Moment." The nominees are Christian de la Fuente's arm injury; Tony & Kate Gosselin's fight; Misty May Traynor's torn Achille's; Marie Osmond's fainting; and Kelly Monaco's wardrobe malfunction. And the winner is ... Marie Osmond, who accepted from her show in Las Vegas.
Later, the nominees for "Worst Dancer" are Kenny Mayne, Master P, Kate Gosselin, Steve Wozniak, and Billy Ray Cyrus. And the winner is ... Kenny Mayne. He says that like the music Michael J. Fox played in "Back to the Future," he was 30 years ahead of his time and we'll all come to understand his dance moves in the future.
The "Bigger Dancer Transformation" nominees are Derek Hough, Tony Dovolani, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Mark Ballas, Louis Van Amstel. And the winner is ... Louis Van Amstel, who earns high marks for having removed the pony tail he had when he began on the show.
The "Best Judges' Moments" were a mere collection of bizarre moments from each of the judges, including Carrie Ann's wild squeals, dancing and crying; Len Goodman's best insults, best rhymes, and best similies; Bruno's shouts, gyrations, and sexual innuendos. There was no real award. Apparently, they all won.
Be our guest: The cast of "Mary Poppins" (the musical) pay a visit to perform. Taylor Swift later performs her new single, "Mine." She later performed her hit, "White Horse."
Further into the show, Rod Stewart takes the stage to perform "I Get a Kick Out of You."
Back to the results: Rick & Cheryl and Jennifer & Derek are called to the stage next. We see that Jennifer was in such pain Monday night she thought she might have to quit the whole contest. The next couple safe for another week is Jennifer & Derek. Rick & Cheryl are still in jeopardy.
Kyle & Lacey and Kurt & Anna come to the stage next. We see that Kurt is still struggling with the difference between bent knees and flexed knees. The next couple safe is Kurt & Anna. Kyle & Lacey are still in jeopardy.
With the three "still in jeopardy" couples awaiting word, we learn that Bristol & Mark are safe. That leaves Kyle & Lacey and Rick & Cheryl.
After a promo for "Skating with the Stars" that seems like something straight out of the mind of Jack Donaghy, and some more election results, we get back to the "Dancing" verdict.
The couple leaving is Rick & Cheryl, meaning Kyle & Lacey are safe for another week.
