The original script only ran about four pages long. The girls improvised all of their dialogue on set, thus adding to the length. Director David Sowden encouraged the girls to improvise to create a more spontaneous feel on set.
The scene in which Nicholas Zebrun tries to pick up Katharine Franco at the bar was entirely improvised on the spot when it was decided that the scene needed to be a bit longer.
All the vodka shots in the film where actually glasses of water. This was done for obvious reasons, most notably because David Sowden insisted on multiple takes.
David Sowden: [Airplane] As Katharine is talking about the co-worker checking her out, a close-up reveals that she is wearing an airplane pin. An airplane (sound or image) is a recurring motif in every one of Sowden's films.
