- James Lester: Matt can't hear me and the computer's broken.
- Jess Parker: [Goes to the computer] It helps if you put the volume up.
- James Lester: Yep, sarcasm won't get you promoted, Jess.
- Jess Parker: [Leaving] Hmm. Must've worked for you.
- James Lester: Don't think I didn't hear that.
- Ted: No sightings yet. But there's definitely something out here. Livestock gone missing, strange tracks down by the river, and the locals are totally freaked. Well, the locals are freaks, but that's probably unrelated.
- Abby Maitland: I don't know any farm animal that produces a mucus like that.
- Connor Temple: Maybe it's a giant snail. At last, a creature we're going to be able to outrun.
- James Lester: [Watching footage of Ethan and Emily] What on earth is going on?
- Jess Parker: He's kidnapping her.
- James Lester: Yes, I can see that. I mean, why do it here? You know, why can't he kidnap her in the Jurassic era where it's not my problem?
- Matt Anderson: I need to find Emily and Ethan.
- James Lester: Right now, your place is out in the field. Go. Don't worry. We'll clean up your mess.
- Matt Anderson: She's my responsibility.
- James Lester: *Our* responsibility. We're a team. I think it's really about time you understood that.
- Connor Temple: This place is well creepy. All we need now is a weird kid sat on a porch, playing a banjo.
- Moira Lennon: Tourists, are you? Carrying weapons like that? I don't think so.
- Connor Temple: Okay. All right. You want the truth?
- Moira Lennon: Yes.
- Connor Temple: We're a secret government department. That Worm's a dangerous prehistoric creature and we're here to capture it, quietly, and take it away.
- Moira Lennon: ...Do you take me for an idiot?
- Ethan Dobrowski: I promised I'd take you home, Charlotte. She was the only one who ever knew me. And now she's gone, I barely know myself.
- Emily Merchant: What are you talking about?
- Ethan Dobrowski: I've been alone for so long. I should have died a hundred times, but I didn't. And I told her, if I ever made it back, I'd find them and I'd make them pay. And now, I'm here.
- Emily Merchant: Who?
- Ethan Dobrowski: My family.
- Matt Anderson: Just tell me where she is and we can help you get home.
- Ethan Dobrowski: I am home.
- Matt Anderson: Who are you?
- Ethan Dobrowski: I am the future. I am the past. You and your friends think you know all about the gateway, but you don't have a clue.
- Matt Anderson: Yeah? Well, what do you know?
- Ethan Dobrowski: With what I know, I can do anything.
- Matt Anderson: What are you going to do?
- Ethan Dobrowski: I'm going to make them see what I've seen, and suffer like I've suffered.
- Ethan Dobrowski: The places we've been, hmm? Nine times out of 10, the human race hadn't even begun. Gateway after gateway, millions of years, millions of miles, and my Charlotte dies in the very city of her birth.
- Gideon: How could you have let him escape?
- Matt Anderson: Emily would have died if I hadn't.
- Gideon: You put one life above billions of others. Haven't I taught you anything?
- Matt Anderson: I don't believe you would have done any different. We don't even know for certain that Ethan's to blame for what happened.
- Gideon: Why else has he appeared right now? Matthew, this is it. I feel it. I know it. And so do you. This has never been about fighting an army. This isn't about money or power or force. Look at the destruction Helen Cutter almost wreaked upon humanity. What did she have? Hmm? Knowledge. That's all that's needed, one person with enough knowledge to bring down the whole world.
