Although it's now a lost film, the 1920 version of 'The Sea Wolf' was a "major adaptation of Jack London's novel" released by Famous Players-Laskey Corporation (the original name of Paramount films) with Noah Beery as Wolf Larsen but also with James Gordon as Death Larsen. Thus, in actuality, this was the "first major adaptation of Jack London's novel to feature the character of Death Larson".
