Sex & Nudity

  • The main character is shown shirtless more than once.

Violence & Gore

  • The monster spits out its acidic saliva and destroys part of the robot's body.
  • Multiple times throughout the movie, the monsters also known as ''kaiju'' get punched, kicked, stabbed, slashed and shot, a lot of blue blood splatters everywhere, sometimes the robots also known as ''jaegers'' rip parts off the monsters, but the humans also die in the movie, they don't show it though, they show how the robot gets destroyed and the humans are known to die inside of it.
  • Multiple scenes of giant robots facing off against giant monsters. Mostly bloodless although the occasional pilot will be wounded and have a minor blood stain. The robots will stab, shoot the monsters as well as hit them with objects around the place.
  • A character falls out of a robot with blood on his hand and shoulder. He collapses on the floor.
  • Blood drips from a character's nose.
  • A character gets a bloody hit to the face (His nose bleeds)
  • We see men tearing pieces from a dead robot.
  • A character gets monster blood all over his hands. It is blue and chunky.
  • A robot gets a sword and stabs a monster in half under water.
  • A robots head is crushed, showing inside and outside shots, slightly disturbing and sudden.
  • A flying monster grabs onto a robot and drags him up into the air. The robot gets a sword and slices off the monster's arm.
  • A monster rips open a robot and grabs onto a pilot. The monster throws him away, killing him. We see him screaming as he is thrown away.
  • A man threatens a man by putting a knife up the other man's nose. We hear him yell and give over the information although this is slightly humorous as well.
  • Two men get into a fist fight. They throw punches and bash each other around the room. We see them both with cuts and blood on their face.
  • A man fights three men with wooden poles. They are knocked to the ground although are not killed. A woman then comes in and the two fight, hitting each other with the poles although neither of them are hurt.

Profanity

  • Infrequent strong language
  • Including only a couple uses of "sh*t","Bastard", "hell", and one GD.
  • 2 uses of shit, 5 uses of ass, 11 uses of hell, 3 uses of goddamn, 2 uses of damn, 3 uses of bastard, 2 uses of bitch, 3 uses of son of a bitch.
  • 1 use of 'For Christ sake' and 1 use of 'Jesus'

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • An army commander swallows a pill from a metal box several times when he begins to suffer nosebleeds; we learn that this is medication for radiation poisoning.
  • A Chinese medicine shop sells medicinal herbs and aphrodisiacs (we see no purchases or use).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Constant peril.
  • The battles are intense.

Violence & Gore

  • A baby monster dies from another monster.
  • A bomb is dropped into the ocean, killing all the monsters and their way into Earth. A massive explosion takes place although no blood is shown.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The scene shown towards the end of the movie where Chuck Hansen and Stacker Pentecost sacrifice themselves as friends/family witness is very intense and very emotional.
  • Chau is suddenly eaten by a baby Kaiju but is revealed to be alive in the end credit scene.
