The Foreman, The Miners and Jimmy the Mouth
claudio_carvalho31 January 2024
In a coal mine, the foreman Johnson is inspecting the toolroom in a mine when he is locked inside. He does not pay attention to the high level of methane and uses a hammer to hit the door and creates a spark and subsequent explosion, killing five miners and himself. The executive Gil Wallace hires The Lightman Group to prove that it was an human error, and not the company error, since there is a report and they are sued. Cal attends the funeral of the dead miners and notes problems with the employees. Then he goes to the miner's bar, where there is a havoc when Wallace comes. Last, he decides to go inside the miner with the crew to find what has happened. Meanwhile, Dillon presses Gillian to help the FBI, and show a video of Cal playing poker with criminals. He threatens Cal with felony charges unless Dr. Foster helps him to find the location of the next game.

"The Canary's Song" is a strange episode of "Lie to Me". I have the idea that miners are brutal men but not necessarily drunken or violent troublemakers. The episode gives this idea of that class. The other segment with Gillian is funny with a great conclusion. My vote is seven.
