A must-see for Phans!
mmarion-33 May 2010
Never have I seen Phish as big as they were on the silver screen! A 3D concert movie makes you feel like you are really there, more so than a 3D movie can. Of course, I would much rather be in the audience, but it felt like I had an on-stage pass. I really hope this initiates more 3D concert movies. I'm so glad they started off with PHISH! The set list isn't the most exciting, but the acoustic set is really really awesome! I definitely feel like I've seen a part of Phish I've never been able to experience before. Some of the best parts were when the camera would zoom over the crowd, and you get to see all the interesting people. Don't miss the opportunity to see it at the movies. I would much rather give my money to see this concert than a movie.I recommend sitting up close! Have fun Phishin' in theaters!

As good as a Phish show gets without being there

Warning: Spoilers
Excellent sound quality and picture quality makes seeing Phish 3D in the theater about as close as it gets to seeing Phish live. The movie chronicles Phish's "Festival 8" concert in Indio, CA in late 2009. If unfamiliar with the band Phish, this movie offers a raw, intimate sample of intense, live concert footage of the band playing in peak form. The 3D footage adds a novelty to the experience. While die-hard Phish fans may find the set list lacking in rare numbers, the songs that are played are of excellent musicianship. Trey Anastasio aficionados will find the close up, 3D-HD view of the guitar fretboard very compelling during songs such as Stealing Time from the Faulty Plan, Maze, and Tweezer. The movie is a non-stop amalgamation of the entire festival, and features the following setlist:

@ = Acoustic

AC/DC Bag, Stealing Time From The Faulty Plan, Undermind, Tweezer, Maze, Mike's, Back On The Train@, Strange Design@, The Curtain With@, Sleep Again@, Train Song@, Wilson@, Loving Cup, Happy, Shine A Light, Soul Survivor, Suzy Greenberg, Tweezer Reprise.

You can wait for the DVD

Alright pholks. If I know you, you are going to watch this movie in the theater, but trust me you don't need to. The 3D part of it is useless, much like it is in all the other craptacular movies out right now. I would have much preferred to see this movie in HD 2D rather than the very dimly lit 3D.

The set list is not the greatest, but I did enjoy the Acoustic Set. There is some nice jamming here, and a firsthand look watching the boys do what they do.

That's all I'll say, I'm sure more of you will elaborate more on the song choices.
