When she was a political candidate, Sarah Palin was all about wholesome American family values, but since then, her family's been behaving more like the reality-tv clan they became on Sarah Palin's Alaska. Palin's oldest son, Track, was arrested over the weekend on domestic violence charges relating to an alleged attack on an unidentified victim. It's the second time Track has been arrested on similar charges, having been charged with attacking his girlfriend in 2016.

2017-08-02T08:52:14-07:00Trump Was Going to Play the President in 'Sharknado'
In January 2015, two years before he was sworn in as president, Donald Trump was set to step into the same role in a very different capacity: He had signed on to play the president in 2015's Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!
Producers' first choice to play the leader of the free world in the Washington, D.C.-set disaster film was Sarah Palin, but negotiations with the former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee had fallen through. That's when Ian Ziering, the gung-ho star of the schlocky Syfy franchise, had the inspiration to capitalize on the special relationship he'd developed with Trump while taping Celebrity Apprentice (Ziering made it as far as the penultimate task). His reality TV boss would make a good commander in chief, he reasoned. An offer went out.

Former Alaska Governor/Vice Presidential nominee/reality show star/commentator Sarah Palin may soon have a new job - TV judge. People is reporting that Palin has signed a deal for a Judge Judy-style show where she’ll be the one wielding the hammer of justice. While the program is still in development, the publication reports the producers, Warm Springs (Duck Commander, Gun Gurus), hope to have the syndicated show ready by the fall 2017. A source told People, "It's a production deal…What happens next is she'll meet with stations, make a pilot and sell it." While Palin doesn’t have a law license, that doesn’t seem to be a deterrent for producers. The source added that Palin’s “wide appeal and common sense wisdom make her a natural for this kind of format.” Palin has been no stranger to TV since losing in the 2008 election. She was...

The politician hopes to "cut through the media filter."
Sarah Palin is going rogue, again. This time, she's taking her trademark rogue-ness to the internet.
The politician, whom some love and others seem to love to hate, has unveiled the Sarah Palin Channel, a subscription-based internet TV network which will focus on everything the former Alaskan governor has to share about the political issues she cares about the most.
Watch: Paula Deen Announces Launch Date of New Network
"This is a news channel that really is a lot more than news," Palin says in the video she produced to announce the online network. "This is a community where we're going to be able to share ideas and discuss the issues of the day."
The online channel is similar to TheBlaze, a video site created by former Fox News host Glenn Beck back in 2011.

On Thursday, April 3, Sportsman Channel premieres "Amazing America With Sarah Palin," a documentary series that follows the former Alaska governor and 2008 Gop vice-presidential contender -- who has become a lightning rod for praise and controversy -- as she travels around the nation celebrating the outdoor lifestyle.
It's a subject Palin knows well, having been raised in Alaska as an avid hunter and outdoorswoman, and was previously showcased in her TLC series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."
Palin also hopes the show inspires other women to get out there, saying to assembled TV critics in Pasadena, Calif. back in January, "I want young women to be inspired by the show that we're going to put together. One of the reasons is because I think this world would be better off having more young women holding a fish in a picture and fewer of them holding a camera in front of a bathroom mirror doing a selfie.

Sarah Palin will host a weekly outdoors-oriented program that will celebrate the "red, wild and blue" lifestyle, the Sportsman Channel said Monday. The program, Amazing America, will debut next April. The Sportsman Channel is in some 32 million homes, fewer than one-third of American households with television, with programming geared to people interested in hunting, fishing and shooting. Palin's show will include a series of stories about personalities and activities in that vein. "It's very important to have somebody of her stature as a personality on Sportsman because it validates the whole category for everybody," said Gavin Harvey, network CEO. The...

Nope, Mel Gibson's not involved. This one's all Mark Burnett, the producer who's partly to blame for giving Donald Trump his own show ("The Apprentice"), as well as Sarah Palin ("Sarah Palin's Alaska"), and his wife Roma Downey of "Touched by an Angel" fame. They're taking their 10-part TV miniseries for the History Channel and re-cutting it into a three-hour movie to be released this fall.
That means you'll be able to enjoy the story of Jesus and his resurrection the way God truly intended: with your feet resting on a Mountain Dew-saturated floor while clutching a box of Goobers. Plus, while heading to church can be a hassle (c'mon Sunday is for football!), Burnett's movie will give you a reasonable dose of the biblical for a measly $10-$14 "donation" to your nearest corporately operated, mass movie theater chain.
Then again, Burnett says they haven't settled...

'Stars Earn Stripes' Todd Palin: 'Our minds think we're 20, but our bodies remind us that we're not'
Zap2it: Did your son, Army Sgt. Track Palin (who deployed to Afghanistan earlier this year) or your wife, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, influence you to participate in a show ("Stars Earn Stripes") that pairs celebrities with military operatives and first responders on simulated missions?
Todd Palin: No. 1 would be the cause, the military charity. Track was major, Sarah was major, and then my working experience on "Sarah Palin's Alaska," knowing (producer] Mark Burnett puts out a great product.
Zap2it: Did you bond with your military operative partner?
Todd Palin: My guy was [former Marine] J.W. Cortes. Our common ground is he has a son with autism, and I've got a son with Down syndrome. Just being a father, you have a bond. With the additional challenge, there's that extra bond. I'm a little older than he is, and I'm like, "We are blessed. There's a reason why...

On Monday, Aug. 13, NBC launches "Stars Earn Stripes," a reality-competition series from reality mogul Mark Burnett and "Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf. It pairs celebrities with military veterans and first responders, who train them for simulated missions in a contest to benefit national veterans, service and first-responder charities.
Think of it as "Dancing With Guns (and Choppers)."
The show's hosts are General Wesley Clark (Retired, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe of Nato and one-time presidential hopeful) and TV personality Samantha Harris ("Dancing With the Stars," "Entertainment Tonight").
The celebrities are boxer (and "Dancing With the Stars" competitor) Laila Ali, actor and former NFL player Terry Crews, singer and TV host Nick Lachey ("The Sing-Off"), four-time Iron Dog Snowmobile Race champion Todd Palin (at left; husband of former Alaska Governor and 2008 Gop vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, with whom he appeared in Burnett's TLC reality show "Sarah Palin's Alaska"), actor Dean Cain,...

Levi Johnston's refusal to take ex-girlfriend Bristol Palin's calls or meet with her in person was recently played out on Palin's new Lifetime show, "Life's A Tripp." But according to his new girlfriend, Johnston had good reason to be so elusive.
According to Sunny Oglesby, who's currently pregnant with Johnston's second child, Johnston refused to answer Palin's calls in order to avoid becoming big a focus of her reality show, RumorFix reports. Oglesby said Johnston's manager warned him not to answer when Palin called, because "she just wants to argue and fight on camera for her reality show."
Johnston and Palin have had a tumultuous relationship since breaking up in July 2010. At that time, Palin slammed Johnston, claiming he was "obsessed with the limelight." Johnston fired back in 2011 with In The Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs, a tell-all book that depicted a dysfunctional Palin family...

Bristol Palin's Lifetime reality show is on the move. According to The Futon Critic, "Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp" has been bumped to 11 p.m. Et. It will be replaced in the Tuesday 10 p.m. timeslot by "Dance Moms" reruns.
"Life's A Tripp" has been a ratings disappointment for Lifetime. The premiere of "Life's A Tripp" attracted 726,000 viewers on June 19. Its lead-in, "Dance Moms," had approximately a million more viewers that night. The next week, only 506,000 viewers watched back-to-back episodes of Palin's reality show, according to The Futon Critic.
The move comes as "Life's A Tripp" is the subject of two lawsuits. Prior to the show's premiere, Lifetime and Palin were slapped with a lawsuit by Stephen Banks, a heckler Palin confronted on camera in the first episode. Banks accused Palin of defamation and claimed that he didn't allow Lifetime to film him.

After a disastrous premiere -- the show scored only 726,000 viewers -- Bristol Palin is going to have to mount a tremendous comeback if she wants to last long with "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on Lifetime). It's certainly a far cry from the heights the Palin family saw with "Sarah Palin's Alaska," or even Bristol's polarizing turn on "Dancing With the Stars."
Still, those who did tune in have found Bristol keeping it surprisingly real about the challenges of being a young, single mother.
This week, she opened up to her sister Willow about how she wished that Tripp's father Levi Johnston were a part of his life; so long as he would be a positive influence. She shared the heartbreak of hearing her son ask her to buy him a dad.

It's the dream of many young women to move to sunny Los Angeles and stay in a big, beautiful house, but for 21-year-old Bristol Palin -- eldest daughter of 2008 Gop vice-presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- there's no place like home.

But whether Palin's new series succeeds or not, one thing appears certain, comedian and talk show host Bill Maher just can't let go of one of his favorite subjects for a joke.
On May 8, Maher came out with this Twitter dig at Levi Johnston, the ne'er-do-well father of Palin's child (and another on the way, with a different woman), in which he also throws in a bonus slap at Palin herself :

Los Angeles, May 22 (Reuters) - Bristol Palin, among America's most famous young single mothers, returns to the national spotlight next month in a TV reality show spotlighting what producers called her "journey into growing womanhood".
Lifetime television said the series, "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" would begin airing on June 19.
It will follow the oldest daughter of Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin, and look at Bristol's life as a single mom to her young son Tripp as the pair move from their home in Alaska to Los Angeles and back again.
Palin, 21, hit the headlines in 2008 when it was learned she was pregnant at age 17, just days after her conservative mother was picked as Republican presidential candidate John McCain's running mate.
The young woman has since become a paid speaker on teen pregnancy prevention, written a book and appeared on TV show "Dancing With the Stars."

Julianne Moore has revealed that she spent hours studying Sarah Palin to prepare for HBO's television film Game Change. Moore explained that she watched the reality series Sarah Palin's Alaska on a nightly basis for months in order to best imitate the former Alaska governor's speaking style. "I used to watch it at night. I did everything I could, absolutely everything I could," the Oscar-nominated actress revealed to Access Hollywood Live. "I only had two months to prepare. It was pretty brief preparation time, so I listened to her book on tape." She continued: "Everything's on YouTube. Everything's documented, so all of her media appearances, all of her speeches, the debate. "I'd listen to it when I was running, I'd listen to it inside the car, I'd work with a vocal coach. HuffPost Entertainment is launching a series entitled "It's Really Not Ok," offering a second look at pop-cultural developments that should have caused alarm but somehow didn't.
A family who made its name in politics by rallying against the so-called "media" should not be allowed to bathe in the lucrative limelight of reality television not once but three times. It's not just hypocritical, it's a cognitive break too great to go ignored.
Bristol Palin (no stranger to attacks on the media) is now taking her experiences with early motherhood -- which the 21-year-old already documented in a memoir -- to the Lifetime network. The show is actually called "Life's a Tripp," a punning if not wholly un-exploitive reference to the son she had with Levi Johnston.
Lifetime is framing the show as a sort of "Teen Mom" for people too old to watch MTV. The network's promotional materials describe Bristol as...

First, a new chin, now a new reality show. Bristol's apparently not done with the limelight! Bristol Palin, 21, wants to stay relevant -- so thank her lucky stars, Lifetime's come to the rescue with Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp, reports Vulture. The show, which will premiere later this year, will follow Bristol adjusting both professionally and personally back in her hometown of Alaska. Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp will be the young mom's fourth attempt at jumping into the most respected genre of TV: reality! (And yes, we're being sarcastic.) Bristol's previously been on Dancing With the Stars, Sarah Palin's Alaska, and another reality show with two former Nickelodean stars that everyone's already forgotten about. "Sarah Palin's Alaska," last year's hit TLC reality show, featured the Palin family fishing in lakes alongside fun-loving bears, hiking picturesque cliffs, hunting deer, flying biplanes and snowshoeing and dog-sledding through snowy tundra. All overlooking stunning views of Alaskan wildlife and wilderness.
"I understand the uniqueness of this land," Sarah Palin said in a preview for the show. "It's family, it's community. That's what the Alaskan spirit is, and we're proud of it."
The first season cost TLC $3.6 million to produce, but was offset by a $1.2 million tax credit given to producers by the state of Alaska, meaning that Alaskan taxpayers essentially fronted a third of the show's production's costs. And though other Alaska-based shows like "Deadliest Catch" and "Ice Road Truckers" also received generous tax credits, Palin's program received the state's largest...

As 2011 swings around to its inevitable conclusion, the Rubbernecker feels the need (okay, you can call it an addiction) to fete this year's TV glories and gories. And there were quite a few of each. As you may know I have a fondness for the ticky-tacky known as Reality Television, I so love the term because it's so not anyone's reality I've ever known. So this recap will examine first the ridiculous... then the sublime.

Sarah Palin passed on running for President but she'll reportedly be back on your TV screen if new negotiations to bring her top rated show prove successful. Question: can Kate Gosselin be convinced to go camping with her again? Sarah Palin is craving the reality TV spotlight! The New York Post is reporting that the former Governor of Alaska is in talks to shoot a second season of her TLC reality show Sarah Palin's Alaska. “The plan would be to shoot this in the summer of 2012," well-known producer Mark Burnett says. "By the time we edit it, the election will be over,” Burnett says. “But I am sure the election would be mentioned [in the show]." Although TLC said in January 2011 that there were no plans to renew the reality show, the ratings were gold. Sarah's show lured an averaged 3.2 million viewers to TLC each week and the show's premiere raked in 5 million viewers.

Sarah Palin wants to produce a TV show about her husband's life as a snowmobiler, but so far, networks have been cold to the idea.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Palin and producer Mark Burnett are pitching a show that would turn the camera on Todd Palin's winning career on the circuit, but the price tag has driven bidders away. Discovery Networks, the company that ran her last show on TLC, paid over $1 million an episode for "Sarah Palin's Alaska," which ran in 2010.
Now, Discovery is unwilling to pay that price, as is A&E Networks. "Sarah Palin's Alaska" debuted to massive ratings, with network record audience of five million, but fell precipitously, including a 40% drop from its first to second episode.
The show certainly drew headlines, with her hunting escapades drawing criticism and her hosting of Kate Gosselin and her children. It was cancelled after its only season.

While camping can be a lot of fun, it's also a lot of work. We can't even imagine trying to do it with eight young kids, no matter how many helpers you have. But that's what Kate Gosselin is doing on 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9Pm Et on TLC).
When the boys start arguing over who sat where and when and then crying when one of them knocks the other over, Kate tries to stay out of it. Letting them resolve their own problems isn't a bad idea from time to time but you can only ignore loud screaming for so long before it drives you crazy.
All in all, though, it was a successful start to another outdoor adventure for the Gosselins, something we know Kate is no fan of based on her disastrous camping adventure on 'Sarah Palin's Alaska,' but it was...

She's been quiet lately, but don't worry: Kathy Griffin will always have another Sarah Palin dig ready when called upon.
The comedienne, who spent much of 2010 slamming on Palin and daughter Bristol and played a Sarah-inspired character on "Glee" earlier this year, has penned for The Hollywood Reporter a series of faux-flattering Emmy acceptance speeches for a number of different celebrities.
