After the nice worldbuilding of the pilot, this series seems to have settled into a moderately okay 7/10 range. Good enough to keep me watching, but it definitely reminds me of the just-okay sci fi series I used to see on cable, and not nearly as good as Apple's other genre series - Severance and For All Mankind. Or as out-there as Foundation. I guess I'm spoiled.
Juliette's backstory is nothing special and the guy who plays her father can't act or do anything close to an American accent (why are they making these poor actors fake accents they can't handle?) The crusty old broad in the machine shop is fun. The in-your-face caste system where everyone looks down on people at the lower level is too hokey.
The beer kinda threw me. Do they have a beer bottling plant on the premises? Okay they could be growing hops and brewing beer. They could carefully save and reuse all the bottles, or even manufacture new ones from recycled glass. Okay it gets a pass, they have beer.
Cmon folks, let's take a walk outside and see what's really going on! I miss Rashida Jones' Allison. She should have been the main character. Of course she's still alive and probably eating hot fudge sundaes at the amusement park right over that hill. Suckers.
