Warren J. Kemmerling: Judge Rensen

Quotes

  • Beth : How many times are we going to go over this statement? I've given it to marshal Logan, it seems simple ant to the point.

Judge Rensen : Oh, it is simple and to the point. And it is a lotta words, saying nothing.

  • Judge Rensen : I don't think that you're lying to me, I just think that you're refusing to be candid. Now maybe you're not laying out the whole truth because, well maybe it has something to do with the way those two men were killed?

Zeb Macahan : The way they was killed was very simple: I killed one of 'em with my pistol and the other one with my bowie knife, nothing fancy about that.

  • Judge Rensen : Marshal, anything that smells like a woman can turn a man's head sixteen ways and he'll end up thanking her for not chopping it off.

Marshal Logan : Now judge, that's probably the reason I never got married.

Judge Rensen : Yeah, the woman is the greatest piece of equipment ever put on this man's earth.

Marshal Logan : I'll go along with that too, sometimes.

Judge Rensen : Sometimes? A man don't quibble with the joys in life. There is nothing that compares with the comforts that a woman offers.

    [Logan chuckles]

Judge Rensen : Oh, unless of course it's hangin' up a horse thief and watching his feet jiggle!

    [both laugh]

  • Judge Rensen : Now that won't be necessary because this case is closed.

Marshal Logan : Except she's got a horse thievin' charge against her, judge.

Judge Rensen : Women don't steal horses, they borrow 'em.
