Nice making of doc

This 54-minute retrospective documentary covers a lot of interesting and illuminating ground on the making of the low-budget sci-fi cult classic "Hardware." Writer/director Richard Stanley talks about growing up in South Africa and doing music videos as well as an earlier Super 8 version of "Hardware" called "Incidents in an Expanding Universe." Storyboard artist Graham Humphreys admits that he totally got along with Stanley. Lemmy from Motorhead briefly chats about dropping a prop gun into the Thames river. Lead actress Stacey Travis points out that she dyed her hair red for her role as Jill and did a lot of her own stunts. Composer Simon Boswell plays the opening theme music on both keyboard and slide guitar. Moreover, we also learn that the lighting was inspired by Mario Bava and Dario Argento, a dream sequence was shot in Morocco, but ultimately cut from the movie, and the graphic violence had to be severely toned down in order to secure an R rating from the MPAA in America. Worth a watch for fans of the film.
