When Selling Sunset first premiered on Netflix in 2019, nobody could have predicted what a phenomenon it would become. The reality show, which is now seven seasons in, centers on the lives of agents at the Oppenheim Group, a high-end real estate brokerage firm in Los Angeles. Not only has it proved to be a massive success, but it’s also created a whole new subgenre for Netflix: luxury real estate reality shows. In addition to Selling Sunset, there’s spin-offs Selling the O.C. and Selling Tampa, as well as shows of a similar flavor like Million Dollar Beach House and Buying Beverly Hills.

The Roast of Tom Brady” was the most-watched TV title on Netflix during the week of May 6, and the second-most-watched title overall.
The special, which originally streamed live during the Netflix Is a Joke comedy fest, hit 13.8 million views during the May 6-12 viewing window, a steep increase from the 2 million views that made it the No. 6 English-language TV title the week before, during which it was only available for the weekend. Also recorded live during the festival, Katt Williams’ stand-up special “Woke Foke” held onto its No. 4 position for the second week in a row, increasing slightly from 4 million to 4.3 million views.
On the movies chart, the Brooke Shields-led “Mother of the Bride” quickly dethroned “Unfrosted” in the top position with a strong 26.7 million views — also outpacing the Brady roast. Jerry Seinfeld’s movie followed with 8.8 million views in its first full week of availability.

Gio Helou probably assumed he’d be the one to unveil the biggest surprise at his $100 million–in–sales party in the form of his unnervingly lifelike ice sculpture. But on the new season of Selling the Oc, that honor belongs to Kayla Cardona, who confronts fellow agents Tyler Stanaland and Polly Brindle at the event about an alleged hot and heavy hookup. What’s more, there’s a tape to prove it.
Cardona drops the bombshell in Episode 2, sending shock waves through the friends, foes, and frenemies at the Oppenheim Group. The agents also learn that the entire incident went down on the Newport Beach office’s pink couches, and there are receipts to prove it. But what did footage actually show? Who’s seen it? And why did Cardona even bring it to light in the first place?
When it comes to the tape, everybody has their own side of the story,...

For the 12th and final day of Netflix is a Joke Fest on Sunday, the streamer turned to one of its biggest reality TV hits to bring the laughs, with a guys vs. girls battle of previous Love is Blind cast members.
Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the event — dubbed “Clash of the Casts” — saw alums of the dating show compete against each other Family Feud style, with the guys’ side comprised of Marshall Glaze (season four), Brett Brown (season four), Milton Johnson (season five) and Jimmy Presnell (season six), and the women’s side featuring Ad Smith (season six), Jessica Vestel (season six), Lydia Velez Gonzalez (season five) and Tiffany Pennywell (season four).
The two married couples on the stage — Brown and Pennywell, and Johnson and Gonzalez — opted not to go face-to-face directly, but talked some trash across from each other as the game began. Nick Lachey also...

“The Roast of Tom Brady” debuted with a bang on the Netflix Top 10.
Despite not premiering until the evening of May 5, when it aired live on Netflix, it was the streamer’s sixth-most-watched English-language TV title of the April 29-May 5 viewing window. In its first few hours of availability, the roast hit 2 million views. And it wasn’t the only live event from Netflix Is a Joke fest to make the chart this week. Katt Williams’ stand-up special “Woke Foke” actually outperformed it as the No. 4 title with 4 million views — though it had the benefit of longer availability, having aired on May 4.
The Jerry Seinfeld-directed movie “Unfrosted” debuted on top of the English-language film chart, but with 7.1 million views in its first weekend, this marks the lowest viewership for a No. 1 film since Netflix began ranking by views in June of 2023.

Season three of Selling the Oc officially debuted on Netflix this weekend.
You may be wondering if the series has been renewed for a fourth season, and if so, who will be involved in the cast.
Well, that’s an interesting question because there’s been a big shakeup at the Oppenheim Group recently!
Three agents have left the O Group since season three filmed, meaning, if the show were to be renewed, it would appear they perhaps would not be involved.

Dearest gentle reader, we’ve been apart for far too long. Mark your calendars this May for the return of Bridgerton with Season 3, Part 1 because there will be plenty of #Polin to go around this spring. If you’re in the market for drama of the real estate variety, Season 3 of Selling the Oc ups the ante — and the square footage, too. Set your sights even higher and take a trip across the pond to Ireland with a crew of podcasters as they set out to investigate the disappearance of three strangers in the darkly comedic thriller, Bodkin. And if you ever wanted more Jennifer Lopez, you’ll be angling to watch the sci-fi thriller Atlas, where Lopez plays a data analyst who teams up with an unlikely ally to save the world.

If you don’t know, a few weeks ago, Brittany went on the famed podcast and made some statements about her ex husband Tyler Stanaland and some alleged behind-the-scenes behavior from his time on Selling the Oc. During the time the show aired its first and second seasons, there were rumors of cheating involving fellow agent Alex Hall.
Brittany kept things vague, but alluded that something happened.
“I will say, what people think happened, happened,” Brittany shared on the podcast. “They messed up. But I tried very hard to see it all from every side and release that anger, because it doesn’t serve me.”
Now, Alex is responding.

It’s season finale time for networks, but Netflix, naturally, still has plenty of brand new TV and shows coming in May.
Jeff Daniels makes his TV return in the David E. Kelley series “A Man in Full.” That six-episode series is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Tom Wolfe. Per a press release: “When Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.” The series will also star Tom Pelphrey, Diane Lane, Lucy Liu, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill and Chanté Adams.
Additionally, comedy fans can get excited for a new special series from John Mulaney. The comedian is hosting a multi-night event, “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA,” that looks to be part interview show and part man-on-the-street hijinks.

The sun is rising on a new season of Selling the Oc, but the shade has never been stronger among the agents at The Oppenheim Group.
But before we get to Season 3, let’s press rewind on all the drama that’s gone down so far. Alex Hall and Tyler Stanaland are still planted firmly in will they, won’t they territory after trading in noseys for hot tub makeouts. Speaking of hot and heavy hookups, Polly Brindle and Stanaland’s office dalliance allegedly was caught on video, drawing fellow agents Brandi Marshall and Kayla Cardona into the mess. Then there’s Alexandra Rose and Alexandra Jarvis, whose friendship got spicier than a midday office margarita. And last but not least, a fourth Alexandra, Nashville’s own Ali Harper, joined the brokerage, making waves and some rivals, including Gio Helou, along the way.
So, what’s in store for the Oc office this season?...

Netflix’s Selling the Oc is returning for Season 3 on May 3 and the trailer previews the upcoming drama that will continue shaking things up on the reality series.
The new season of the Selling Sunset spinoff continues with the same cast, including Kayla Cardona, Alexandra Jarvis, Brandi Marshall, Polly Brindle, Alex Hall, Gio Helou, Alexandra Rose, Tyler Stanaland, Austin Victoria, Sean Palmieri, and Jason Oppenheim.
Last season, Alexandra Harper was introduced to audiences, and by the end of Season 2, she was given the opportunity to join the Oppenheim Group. However, things seem to be a little rocky for the real estate agent, with Oppenheim saying, “She has not developed the experience that she should have at this stage of the game.”
The romantic drama between Hall and Stanaland that affected the latter’s marriage to his wife Brittany Snow, continues in Season 3.
“You swooned me and then you f***ing disappeared.

Sitting on a couch post-workout session in his office on the Sunset Strip, L.A. real estate broker Jason Oppenheim tells The Hollywood Reporter exclusively that his popular Netflix reality show Selling Sunset has been renewed for an eighth season and that production will begin soon on the latest installments of the series.
“For me, each season gets more and more fun,” says Oppenheim, who had originally hoped that the show — a bingeable mix of real estate, oft-combative personal dynamics, over-the-top fashion and L.A. nightlife — would run for at least three seasons. “When we were doing season one, we were like, ‘If we can get to season three, we had a real show. Anything above that would be icing.’ We’ve been running on icing for years now.”

"Selling Sunset" season seven is almost here and, of course, the drama is never-ending. Netflix dropped the season's trailer on Oct. 12, teasing more shade from the Oppenheim Group agents and an intense sit-down between Jason's ex, Chrishell Stause, and his then-girlfriend, Marie-Lou Nürk, though they've since broken up. That, plus a playful rivalry between the "Selling Sunset" cast and their other Oppenheim branches, like "Selling the Oc," are what viewers can look forward to this season. But that's not all.
On Nov. 2, Netflix revealed that "Selling Sunset" will cap off its seventh season with a bonus reunion special on Nov. 15, hosted by "Queer Eye"'s Tan France. The last time the show aired a reunion was in 2022 for season five, which was an explosive episode that addressed the aftermath of Stause and Jason's breakup and revealed the former's romance with her partner, G-Flip. Netflix has partnered with the Handy Foundation, an organization that connects below-the-line workers to job opportunities in the entertainment industry, on a new program focused on representation among assistant editors and production coordinators.
Netflix and the Handy Foundation began piloting this program in 2022, helping train and identify talent for potential job opportunities on Netflix projects. Among the programs where trainees have worked include “Selling the O.C.,” “The Circle” and “Perfect Match,” all popular unscripted series.
The career-building initiative is split into two tracks: an apprentice and assistant editors program, which provides a springboard toward future assistant editor roles and equips participants with post-production experience; and a production coordinator program which is a pipeline to a career in production management.
“We created the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity to build new pathways for underrepresented communities and support the organizations committed to creating a more equitable environment within entertainment,” said Tiffany Burrell-Lewis,...

Ever since Tyler Stanaland and Brittany Snow announced their split after two years of marriage in September 2022, the status of Stanaland's relationship with his "Selling the Oc" costar Alex Hall has been thrown into question.
Throughout season one of Netflix's hit show "Selling the Oc," Stanaland and Hall's friendship became a major topic of conversation, with many criticizing their flirtatious behavior and calling it "inappropriate." At the time of Stanaland and Snow's separation, a source told People that their breakup was caused by him being on the show. "Brittany never wanted Tyler on the show but he was adamant," the source told People. "He wanted to make a name for himself on his own terms."
Another insider told the outlet, "They're fully over. All of the girls [on the show] are obsessed with him. He's been trying to be really respectful but it's taken a toll on his marriage 100 percent."

Although the reality of Netflix’s “Selling the Oc” — an unscripted series following the personal and professional lives of the owner and agents at successful California-based brokerage the Oppenheim Group — has been scrutinized since it first premiered in 2022, the multi-million dollar homes seen on camera are all truly for sale.
“Most of the time, they are listings that the Oppenheim group already had — whether the agents procure them themselves or they’re with [the brokerage],” Adam Divello, creator of the “Selling the Oc” and its parent show, “Selling Sunset,” told IndieWire.
And it is the stylish way the properties are filmed, with every glamorous detail offering audiences a vantage point of homes different from what they may have seen in the past, that sets the franchise apart from other reality series about real estate.
“We really try to give it our own style. And that was very deliberate from day one,” Divello said,...

Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland went their separate ways in September 2022 after two years of marriage. In a joint statement shared on Instagram, the two revealed their "difficult decision to separate," which they noted was "made with love and mutual respect for one another." Since then, the two have remained mum about their split, though Snow may have hinted at it in a May 2023 interview with Bustle.
Although she didn't cite a specific incident, the 37-year-old actor revealed, "In the past year I went through probably the hardest mental health challenge I've ever faced." She continued, "In one day, in a matter of hours, my life turned completely upside down. I was blindsided and every thing I thought I knew, held sacred and truly trusted in my life was completely different."
Luckily, she had people around her to help her through. "Thank god for my friends," she said. "I don't...

"Selling the Oc" is back for season two, and the new episodes are more drama-packed than ever. It won't surprise returning viewers that Alexandra Jarvis is one of the realtors who finds herself at the center of some of the squabbling - including fights about her (at the time) impending marriage to Sergio Ducoulombier. The pair ultimately tie the knot at the end of the season, with the marriage taking place in April 2023. The duo eloped in Italy, and Jarvis is vocal on the show that she and Ducoulombier wanted a small celebration together. But "Selling the Oc" viewers might have a few questions about who Ducoulombier is and how they met. Here's what to know about Jarvis's husband.
Jarvis, 33, shared in June 2020 that she and Ducoulombier, 47, had been together a year. She wrote on Instagram at the time, "The 52 weeks since this gorgeous man entered my life have been a true 'more than' experience.

The reality stars took the opportunity to shut down speculation about a love triangle, which got going after the three were seen together only hours after Stanaland and actress Brittany Snow confirmed their separation last year.
“You’re always busy this season, though. No drama. How, Jason? How?” Chanté asked Oppenheim.
“I have to say, I do a pretty good job of avoiding it down here, but I still get the phone calls, like off camera,” he said. “There’s still just so much, like, collateral damage going on. But yeah, they carry a show all to themselves. So I just gotta be the boss.

There’s, unsurprisingly, going to be plenty of drama in “Selling The Oc” season 2.

Brittany Snow is opening up about one of the “hardest mental health challenges” she has faced in the past year and how she has relied on her friends for support.
Although Snow doesn’t reveal too many details, the American Dreams alum filed for divorce in January of this year from husband of two years Tyler Stanaland. The couple had announced they were separated four months prior amid drama stemming from the Netflix reality series Selling the Oc.
“In the past year I went through probably the hardest mental health challenge I’ve ever faced. In one day, in a matter of hours, my life turned completely upside down,” Snow told Bustle. “I was blindsided and every thing I thought I knew, held sacred and truly trusted in my life was completely different.”
Snow continued, “A couple days later my grandmother passed away and I think every thing I knew about mental health was tested.

A staple of upfronts week — though not as much lately, first because of the Covid-19 pandemic and now because of the writers strike — has been the unveiling of ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox’s fall lineups. This was done so advertisers knew what they were buying ads against and therefore what demos and audience size it would be most likely to reach by promoting products during those programs.
For Netflix, which doesn’t follow the September-to-May season that broadcast still lives by but now has an ad-supported tier it needs to supply with commercials, to take this approach is potentially a move for the streamer to...
