This episode had the worst plane set in a long time (really, how much space is actually available in an airplane aisle or restroom?) The character being guarded was implausible, far below usual NCIS standards for writing & acting. Perhaps it was the direction. The flight stewards should have followed standard protocols to keep some minimum of willing suspension of disbelief rather than just fitting the plot and not knowing how to handle those heavy beverage carts. This episode simply cannot compare with Chimera or Meat Puzzle, two of the best episodes for writing, acting, & pacing - even with what we know are sets! NCIS is usually much better than this.
