The episode was entertaining, but really difficult to believe.
Still, it has two highlights. A) Nolan doing well in the fight b) Wesley finally deciding to speak with his wife.
The rest? Ugh.
The neighbour was an obvious suspect, still apparently nobody investigated him, except for joking about how he was interested in Nolan's girlfriend. Then Nolan saw the mark in the back and decides to cross the street without looking for cars to do the important phone call.
Then, Wesley, decides to have a witness arrested to protect him, by making an "anonymous" call from the very same house of the target, and after leaving his own fingerprints in the weapon. All while the man knows he is in the house, so he can denounce him for planting evidence, if he wanted.
The wealthy housewives subplot was actually fun but it took time that should have been dedicated to the main story.
And then, the fight. The serial killer was stupid, ineffective and with storm trooper aim, not being able to shot a half-drugged Nolan. Also, Nolan rejects several weapons of opportunity in favor of what the plot said he needed to use. And even when he was escaping quite randomly, he appeared just near the car with the things he needed.
So, please, The Rookie, try to invest a little more in credibility. You can be interesting and credible at the same time!
