When Billions began 6 years ago, it was one of the best shows on TV.
Unfortunately, Season Six of Billions, while it tries as hard as it can, falls far short of the mark of the prior five seasons.
1) it's painfully missing Damian Lewis, "Axe", the key figure in the show. Minus 3 points.
2) Maggie Siff has nearly zero screen time. Minus 2 points.
There seems to be some kind of plot about Prince getting NYC the Olympics, but in fact I'm familiar with the actual bid of NYC for the 2016 Olympics, and it was nowhere near as nefarious as portrayed in this episode arc.
Finally, Paul Giametti as Chuck Rhoades, who has been steadily great in this show, seems to just be going through the motions in Season Six. There just isn't the same panache or zing he had in the beginning or other seasons.
All in all, not nearly as fun as Season One.
