This is the only documentary on the DVD of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. It consists of interviews with author, actors and crew, behind-the-scenes footage, bits from a real propaganda film(that they re-created portions of), clips from the movie itself and production stills. Note that this making-of spoils the ending and other aspects of the feature itself. Unfortunately, much of the first fourth of it is pure love-fest for the novel and the adaptation(need a drinking game? Take a shot every time someone says that they cried when reading the book or the script). After that, it moves to them talking about their hard work to ensure accuracy(they succeeded) and a sort of analysis of it, as well as some talking about how it pays a ton of respect to the source material. We get the irritating dancing around the obvious because there is such a fear of admitting that Nazis were people, and that it wasn't some demon that came up from beneath the Earth and did this; with that said, they do also get to say things that bring forth the vital point that they were human beings. This has a running time of just under 20 minutes, and it is concise. The editing is great. There is a little disturbing content in this. I recommend this to anyone interested in the subject. 7/10
