- Tara hasn't told anyone about her alter, Buck, having emerged again. She decides to try and do something about it and visits Pammy, the woman who is now madly in love with Buck, to break it off. She can't quite go through with it leading Pammy to make her affections known in a very public way. The sale closes on the house next door but Max is having repair troubles already. Marshall is pursuing his relationship with Courtney while Kate visits Lynda Frazier after her check bounces. It turns out that Kate bears a striking resemblance to the woman in Lynda's artwork.—garykmcd
- Buck continues to spend time with Pammy and her kids, while Tara cannot bring herself to tell Max that she is transitioning again. Tara ultimately confronts Pammy to breaks things off, but Pammy is unable to accept that Buck is a personality of Tara. Marshall continues a relationship with Courtney; Tara believes Marshall is confused. Neil is dismayed to learn of Charmaine and Nick's engagement. Kate has begun spending more time at Lynda's studio; Kate dresses up in a Valhalla Hawkwind costume for Lynda. Max hires a carpenter, Sully, to do work on the house next door; Sully takes Max's money but does not do the work as promised. Tara and Max take the family ice skating; Pammy follows the Gregsons to the skating rink and, on the microphone, announces her love for Buck. Realizing that Tara is transitioning again, an infuriated Max returns home and angrily punches Sully.
- Tara (Toni Collette) continues to wake up next to Pammy (Joey Lauren Adams), the bartender. Buck has spent two weeks with Pammy and her kids. Tara has not told her husband Max (John Corbett) about her transitioning to Buck (Toni Collette), or Bucks relationship with Pammy. Though she hasn't yet transitioned, Tara is dressed like Buck and attempts to confront Pammy at her appartment. Pammy does not take the news of Buck being a personality of Tara well.
Kate (Brie Larson) continues working at a collection agency. Lynda P. Frazier (Viola Davis), continues to get visits from Kate under the pretext of assessing Lynda's assets for the collection company. Lynda shows Kate her viking/nordic inspired wardrobe, Kate dresses and strongly resembles Lynda's illustration from college Princess Valhala Hacquin.
Escro closes on the Gregson's neighbor's Hubbard house, the "Hubbard house." Max begins working on the house with help from his landscaping buddy.
Marshall (Keir Gilchrist) is dating Courtney (Zosia Mamet) a girl from school. In the rafters at a school, Courtney and Marshall touch the other's genitals until the houselights of the stage turn on.
Charmaine Craine (Rosemarie DeWitt) talks about her engagement ring fairly constantly. When she approches Max with a question about getting resized Neil (Patton Oswalt) finds out she's engaged and gets upset.
Tara and Max discuss iceskating together; they bring Kate and Marshall. Pammy apparently followed Tara home and is crying unseen outside the Gregson home.
Pammy follows the Gregson's to the skating rink and announces she loves Buck over the telecom. Pammy says she "doesn't care about [the] disorder" and "hopes she catches it." All the Gregsons and Charmaine are present to hear Pammy's confession. Max leaves the rink angry.
Max goes to confront Sully (Lance Barber) who was supposed to come to do paid work on the Hubbard house but never showed.
Tara is left crying in the men's bathroom at the ice rink.
