Anthony Anderson’s mom?
The postponed Emmys had far more great moments than bad, thank goodness — starting with the brisk, git’ ‘er done pace, which seemed particularly on brand for the scrappier-than-ever Fox. And though the night was packed with far too many anti-climactic moments (as if any show other than Succession would rack up all the trophies), the meet-cutes on stage made for fun TV and the sentimental interpretation of the title song from Friends during the In Memoriam segment was both appropriate and absolutely heartbreaking.
Best Moments
Anthony Anderson’s opening monologue, which began with him walking into his own “Mister Anderson’s Neighborhood.” After throwing off his fur coat, he then sat down at a piano and, joined by a chorus from Compton, sang a medley of title songs like “Good...

USA’s Temptation Island Season 5 is here, and fans can’t wait to see if the four couples last after they meet and connect with the singles. Like all reality TV dating shows, the contestants have to follow rules. Here are the Temptation Island rules that fans never knew existed.
‘Temptation Island’ has rules for contestants regarding changing their hair
The Temptation Island Season 5 stars have to follow strict rules when it comes to changing their hair. While competitors are allowed to play around with their hairstyle, they can’t cut or dye their hair once they’re cast for the show.
“We like for them to have their hair the same color throughout shooting to maintain continuity,” showrunner Trifari Williams explained to USA.
When it comes to styling their hair, cast members can choose to either style it themselves or have hair and makeup artist Melissa D’ Angelo style it for them.

Who doesn't love a good ol' reality tv romance?
From The Bachelor to Married at First Sight, to The Courtship and Love is Blind. There is no shortage of reality television shows to show us the good and the bad aspects of dating and falling in love.
I've been watching these series for years, from the heyday of VH1 dating shows to the Netflix originals of today. And with each new show, I've realized there are some fundamental lessons I've learned about love. Perhaps these are some lessons you've also gleaned while watching strangers search for that all-consuming love.
Never Ignore The Red Flags
Look, we've all been there before.
You meet the perfect person, and maybe for a while, everything is great. You're happy and content, and you feel like your relationship is growing and heading in a positive direction, but along the way, you notice a few things that just aren't right.

Despite what you may have heard, linear television ain’t dead yet — and we’ve got 10 broadcast shows that proved it over the course of the concluding September-to-May television season. Then again, we’ve also got 10 that definitely suggest the opposite.
Once again, CBS juggernaut “NCIS” was the most-watched show on broadcast, according to Nielsen statistics. The CBS procedural has been the best on broadcast for four years running and 12 of the last 13 seasons (NBC’s “This Is Us” triumphed in 2017-18). CBS’ “FBI” was the only other entertainment program on broadcast television to average north of 10 million viewers per episode this season.
For the purposes of this story, we omitted sports and news programming; otherwise the majority of the top 10 list would be football. The only potential news-programming victim here is “60 Minutes,” the long-running CBS newsmagazine series that can really go either way in terms of genre. We...

The source of her pain appears to be contestant Lincoln Chapman, who isn't ready to make a big commitment. Lincoln tells Nicole, "Every morning I wake up and I've been trying to convince myself I'm ready, been trying to force myself to get to where I know you wanted me to be...And I don't know if I can do that." It is a truth perhaps not universally acknowledged so much as inevitable that successful IP breeds imitators. “Bridgerton” is the latest in a line of period dramas with strong female focal characters, one that contains examples as different as “The Gilded Age” is to “Dickinson.” The new USA reality series “The Courtship” aims to tap into this fascination with romantic ages past, which means the show must balance the well-known rhythms of a “Bachelorette”-type dating series — challenges for dates, stolen kisses, the occasional plunge into a lake, and an elimination set piece — while embodying the hallmark looks and pleasures of its Regency-era “setting.”
Dropping the pretense of fiction makes “The Courtship” an intriguing interpretation of what the naked (or at least semi-nude) pleasures of costume dramas actually are: namely, the costumes, the countryside, pretty horses, and prettier people. But it’s also an interesting test of what’s required...

Sunday’s primetime looked a little different this week with CBS’ coverage of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament topping the evening, even with its final half-hour. Airing the latest March Madness games proved to be a clever strategy for the network as the annual event provided 60 Minutes with a strong enough boost to best ABC’s American Idol in both the demo and audience.
Due to March Madness overrun, CBS’ programming slate got a later start. Starting at around 7:41 p.m. instead of its typical 7 p.m. slot, 60 Minutes earned the night’s highest numbers – a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demo and 9.39 million viewers, per fast affiliates. 60 Minutes, which typically wins Sundays for CBS, was up six tenths and nearly 2 million viewers from the previous week.
At 8 p.m. American Idol dipped by three tenths in demo and more than 1 million viewers from last Sunday.

Just 10 days after “The Courtship” premiered on NBC, the broadcast network fell out of love with its “Bridgerton”-inspired reality dating series and sent it by hansom cab to USA Network.
The move comes after the “Pride & Prejudice”-inspired series struggled to attract an audience with its first and second episodes. The March 6 premiere settled for a 0.2 rating among adults aged 18-49 and 988,000 total viewers, according to Nielsen’s Live + Same Day numbers, and its second episode dropped to a 0.1 rating and 623,000 viewers. For that second episode, “The Courtship” was broadcast TV’s single lowest-rated (and least-watched) show of the night.
But there is hope for the relative few hopeless romantics who tuned in: “The Courtship” will now air after “Temptation Island” on NBCUniversal’s top cable channel, USA, creating a reality-dating-show block on Wednesday evenings. As was the case with the short-lived NBC run, episodes of “The Courtship...

The Regency-era-inspired reality dating competition “The Courtship” has moved from NBC to USA Network, where it will air Wednesday nights at 11 p.m., after “Temptation Island,” NBC confirmed to TheWrap.
The decision was made after the series’ lackluster debut in the 8 p.m. slot on March 6 and its even worse performance the following week, where it lost 37% of the premiere’s 990,000 viewers. Newcomers can catch up with the series from the beginning as it will re-air the first episode this week, followed by Episodes 2 and 3 next week and Episode 4 the following week.
NBC did not have a comment about the move, but the disappointing ratings and the ability to slot it next to an already established reality series likely played a part in the network’s decision.
The first two episodes are available now on Peacock and new episodes will be added to the streamer the day after they air on USA Network.

The Courtship is splitting up with NBC.
The new reality series has been dropped from the Sunday schedule.
In a move that might secure a second season, USA Network has picked up the remainder of the first season.
The cabler is pairing up the dating series with Temptation Island Season 4.
Temptation Island Season 4 gets underway Wednesday, March 16, and will be followed by the series premiere of The Courtship.
Fans of the Courtship will get their next fresh episode on March 23 on USA Network because the cabler will air episodes 2 and 3 back-to-back at 11 p.m.
News of the switch-up comes after the series failed to garner much traction on NBC.
It launched with fewer than a million viewers and slipped to a little over 500,000 viewers in week two.
Episodes will still be available on NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock, just one day after they air on USA Network.

Nicole Rémy will no longer be looking for love on NBC. After airing just two episodes, NBC is moving The Courtship to USA Network, starting with the upcoming third episode. The Jane Austen-inspired dating show will now air on Wednesdays right after Temptation Island. The Courtship Episode 3 will debut on Wednesday, March 23, on USA instead of Sunday, March 20 on NBC. The Courtship series premiere will air on USA on Wednesday, March 16 at 11 pm Et following the season premiere of Temptation Island Season 4. Episodes 2 and 3 will air back-to-back on March 23. Episode 4 will debut on March 30 and weekly thereafter at 11 pm Et on Wednesdays. The move comes after The Courtship struggled to bring in viewers for the first and second episodes. Episodes will remain available for next-day streaming on Peacock. NBC described The Courtship as the “ultimate social experiment in romance” where a heroine would look for her duke, much like Bridgerton.

The Courtship is ending its date with NBC.
The reality dating format has been pulled from the NBC lineup and moved to USA Network.
It comes as the series struggled to find an audience on linear television with its premiere scoring a 0.2 and 0.92M viewers with its second episode dropping to a 0.1 with 0.59M viewers.
It was in a tough Sunday slot without much lead-in and the hope is that pairing it behind Temptation Island on USA Network will drive more reality TV eyeballs to the series.
The series, which was formerly known as Pride & Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance, was originally ordered by Peacock but was moved to the linear network last month.
It debuted on Sunday March 6 at 8pm. This Sunday, March 20, NBC will replace it with an original episode of The Weakest Link, followed by an Adele special at 9pm. On March 27, a recap of American...

Having failed to draw a Bridgerton of interest, The Courtship after just two airings is relocating from NBC to USA Network, for the duration of its run.
As first reported by Vulture’s Joe Adalian, the Regency-style England dating series — which at one point was titled Pride & Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance — is leaving NBC’s Sunday line-up effective immediately, and instead will air Wednesdays at 11/10c on USA (leading out of Temptation Island), and stream the next day on Peacock.

NBC's revamped Sunday schedule got some more bad news on Sunday.
The Weakest Link returned with just 1.5 million total viewers and a 0.2 rating
The numbers are way down from its freshman season, casting a dark cloud over its future on NBC.
The Courtship, a new dating reality series, slipped to 0.6 million viewers and a 0.1 rating -- around 40% vs. its premiere,
Transplant closed out the night at 1.1 million viewers and a 0.1 rating, steady with its premiere.
The show has already been renewed in Canada, but NBC will probably not air the third season at these levels.
ABC's winning combination of American Idol (6.4 million/0.9 rating) and The Rookie (3.2 million viewers/0.4 rating) were both down, but still strong.
Over on CBS, The Equalizer (6.7 million/0.6 rating) and Swat (4.1 million/0.5 rating) held up well, while NCIS: Los Angeles (5.2 million/0.4 rating) dipped a tenth as it awaits word on its future.

All’s fair in love and courting. In The Courtship Episode 2, “Acts of Chivalry,” the suitors didn’t have much time to woo heroine Nicole Rémy. For some, failing to seize the day ended in disappointment, with two more suitors leaving Castle Howard for good. After Dr. Schanzer, Mr. Echavarria, and Mr. Ward were sent home in the series premiere, only 13 suitors remained. Here, we break down what each of them did (or didn’t do) to convince Ms. Rémy and her court they deserve more shots at love in this Jane Austen-inspired romantic adventure. The Daily Tea The Courtship Episode 2 started with the debut of a new feature: “The Daily Tea.” It’s a society paper reporting what’s to come that day for the heroine, her court, and her suitors. It’s giving Bridgerton Lady Whistledown energy, minus the scathing comments about the eligible lords and ladies.

The long wait for Transplant Season 2 concluded Sunday night, but it looks like many viewers forgot the show was back ... or they lost interest after such a lengthy hiatus.
Transplant Season 2 Episode 1 managed 1.3 million viewers and a 0.1 rating -- way down from last season's premiere (4 million/0.4 rating), finale (3 million/0.4 rating), and average (3.5 million/0.4 rating).
The series has already been renewed in Canada for a third season, but it's unlikely NBC will pick up the rights to air it if the numbers continue to be this low.
Elsewhere on NBC, The Courtship -- a Bridgerton-esque dating series -- got off to a lowly start, with fewer than a million viewers and a 0.2 rating.
In The Eye of the Storm followed with 2.2 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.
Over on ABC, American Idol is showing impressive resilience, rising to 6.3 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in the demo.
