I was proved wrong
logbinder30 July 2021
I wrote a review on the first episode and I am so glad my worries seemed to be unnecessary. Episode two was so much better than episode one and although I am still unsure as to where the season is going or what is the main subject of this season, now at least I have trust and hope the season will unravel in a very good way.

Getting better

This episode has some laugh-out-loud moments (and some DEEP ones), and I'm excited to see where the rest of the season goes! Hats off to the cinematography 🎩

Comedy and Philosophy
herrbrett30 July 2021
I love that this show has the philosophy of good coaching and comedy. It's hard to find funny stuff that actually has any deeper meaning. Great acting and writing.

5-star, certified fresh
dkstarkey31 July 2021
While the season two premiere was less laugh out loud funny and more character setting, episode two reminded me once again why Ted Lasso is my favorite show in years. From the opening scene featuring Jamie Tartt on the dating reality show, I was busting a gut laughing. And in true Lasso fashion, the rest of the episode volleyed between laughter and real moments of vulnerability. The writers continue to reward the audience by effortlessly developing Jamie's back story and showcasing Keeley's strength. Roy Kent is rediscovering what makes him Roy F--ing Kent. And Higgins remains an underrated but appreciated team player. I think Ted would rate this episode "5-star, certified fresh".

Great Episode

Not much more to say. Love how they made Jamie Tart look like Jack Grealish.

Getting good and I have faith it will be great

I still don't see the psychologist storyline being effective besides an eventual sit down with Ted where he bares his soul about his divorce. But, season 1 was so outstanding that I have faith the writers know what they're doing. This episode was funny and the inevitable return of Jamie has come to pass. I love Roy's continued screen time as a main character as well; he is hilarious.

Warning: Spoilers
Again the psychologist (Sharon) begins the episode being incredibly rude and unlikeable but finally and unexpectedly she begins to warm up at the end which was good too see.

Jamie rejoined the squad at the end too despite Ted's assurances to poor Sam that he wouldn't be, so it'll be very interesting to see how that plays out in the next episode.

It was a good second episode. One thing, though.....

....the song playing in the background when Roy Kent is on his way to the TV studio is absolutely perfect. Whoever made that choice deserves a raise because you couldn't come up with a song that's more "Roy Kent" than this one.

Brilliant, Superb show, just not my favorite episodes.
debkamaine31 July 2021
I've told everybody and their brother about this show since finding it two weeks ago and binge watching. Why was I let down today? Maybe I made too much of it. I'm tired of Keeley. I know that the uneducated are the wise ones sometimes, but I'm tired of her. I adore every single character. It has always been packed with inferences and jokes that you have to catch quickly. I have to replay because I have a hard time understanding what is said sometimes. I love that it throws in fast jokes. Every single character is top-notch brilliant. I hope they take Danny Rojas and build him, he's another that seems packed with potential. I mean, you've got so many outstanding characters. I don't care for jokes about Free Mason stuff or the Meghan Markle a few back. Please no politics, please. I'm afraid I made this much bigger then it is since finding it. It is a brilliant show.

A brilliant episode !
Avidviewer-028472 August 2021
Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt and Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent were great, Jamie is a narcissistic player with a golden foot and Roy is an insecure retiree who speaks in four letter words about the "GAME". Four letter words are ok on UK TV, they would be bleeped on regular US TV but this is streaming.

We all knew Jamie was a tart, this proved his daftness. "This Morning with Phillip and Holly" is a real TV show in the UK, brilliantly acted. A great episode. Remember this season has 12 episodes, not 10 like season 1. I look forward to the rest of season 2. Great writing !

Episode 202

The show has lost a little bit of its luster, but it is still fairly enjoyable. An analyst is the obvious route to keep Roy on the show though. Wish they did something more original.

The slow decline

Warning: Spoilers
I'm hoping it's just a bump in the road, but season 2 so far has been a big disappointment. Not as funny and the swearing has gotten out of hand. I'm still have hope it will pick up, but I think the idea of Ted Lasso is one that can't go on for too long. The whole idea was him trying to win everyone over with is positive kindness, now he has done that, it's seems like it has no-where to go.

Such a great show

This is one of those episodes of Ted Lasso that do so well with being genuinely funny yet completely heartwarming and inspirational without at all being cringe or sappy. Honestly, if you don't like this program, I don't even wanna know ya.

Thank goodness. Back on track.
jljacobi30 July 2021
The opening episode was scattershot, weak, and worrisome because so much from Hollywood these days is morphing into woke garbage.

This was not. The new character is actually human in this one and the drivel is back under control. Nice to see some of the supporting cast back in play as well.

This to me is welcome back Ted Lasso. Never have I been so glad to be wrong about the direction of a show.

I do want to amend this review. Note that this show is not for kids though there are quite a few in it. I personally could do without the sexual content as well as the swearing. I'm not offended, I just don't see the reason for it and without it, it would be suitable for everyone.

Return of Jamie
dannylee-780821 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think it's great that he's maturing up and asking for help to return to his old team. I always like seeing characters develop as long as it's not too out of place.

I think adding Dr. Sharon to the show is a nice touch. She's like one of the more serious less comedic character we definitely need to balance out on the show.

So happy with the 2nd episode onward of season 2. The first episode had me worried but every episode after has been amazing! Guess they just needed a warm-up before delivering another great season. I hope this show lasts for many more seasons!

Back in the Saddle

First of all, I loved Roy's sojourn on that sports show where he tells it like it is (with, of course, loads of profanity). His cohosts are mortified while the fans are crazy for it. Of course, British TV has very little censorship. The psychologist continues to work with the players who have found a sort of mom and Ted is more in tune with her. The issue that needs to be dealt with is whether Jamie should be let back on the team. Obviously, there is not a better player around, but he now as the reputation as a destructive force. Oh, I also loved Roy's coaching methods with the little girls' soccer team.

In this episode the coach while watching the train was holding a cup and drinking from it, then he entered the field and the cup disappeared 😂😂
