Prepare to be enthralled by the rich tapestry of characters that populate Shelter in Solitude.

The filmmakers have meticulously developed a cast of individuals who are as flawed as they are endearing, making them feel incredibly authentic.

Literally, some of the most outstanding actors I have seen til this day.

Each one of the characters possess their own unique quirks, fears, and aspirations, resulting in a dynamic ensemble that adds depth and relatability to the narrative. The performances are outstanding, breathing life into these multidimensional characters and taking the film to new heights.

I will be back to see it again this weekend .

A great character study, Siobhan really knows her people! The story of two totally different people finding a connection really grabs your attention. Her character is irritating, laughable, relatable, and fun. Knowing that this is an independent film, made in her hometown with her high school friends as extras, makes it even more delicious. As I am from said home town, I enjoyed it more than ever! The movie was touching, funny, sad, and watchable. I never looked at my watch once to see how much longer! Grabs your attention and keeps it. I loved it, and you should see it. Now I need to write more characters to submit this, and these are them.

Simply remarkable

Siobhan Fallon Hogan has created a wonderful cast of believable characters and woven their stories together into a wrenching plot. None of them are entirely heroic yet, perhaps save for Kevin who is too immature to have character, they are each finally redeemable, though not in any facile way. From Peter Hogan's Chris to Siobhan's Valerie, for all their flaws, each offers a shining moment of simple and beautiful humanity, reminding us that even in the shadows of a darkening world and a desperately cruel situation, women and men are capable of connection and relationship across the most unlikely divides. In addition to Siobhan's own performance, Robert Patrick's Dwayne and Peter Macon's Jackson deserve special mention for revealing a deep and memorable humanity in the midst of very complex lives.

This movie is absolutely fantastic top to bottom. The musical score, acting, story and cast are all great. Peter Hogan was brilliant alongside his mother and the Rob Bank$ and Fat Nick cameo was a nice surprise. It touches on so many different topics we are dealing with today. I also really love how it manages to touch a multitude of different genres. It is funny, dramatic, mysterious, and thrilling. I hope we continue to see movies coming from this production company. I'll be watching every single one!!!

10/10 would recommend for and film enthusiast and anyone looking for a great movie to watch.

Honestly , one of my favorite all around films .

I've been involved in a lot of casts & I've seen enough top notch work to not give my honest opinion on this.

This is an outstanding film . I highly recommend. .... This film introduces a phenomenal ensemble of actors that leap off the screen and into your heart. From the protagonist's compelling journey of self-discovery to the fascinating supporting cast, each character is expertly crafted and flawlessly portrayed. The depth and complexity of their personalities make them relatable and breathe life into the story, leaving a lasting impression on audiences long after the credits roll.

Siobhan did an absolutely amazing job with this movie! The soundtrack - the acting - the cinematography - the comedy, and emotional aspects are all so well done. A movie that can you have laughing one moment, and emotionally invested the next. The script is so well written which allows you to feel invested in these characters, and allows you to truly sympathize and understand these characters. The humor doesn't drown out the emotional beats throughout the film, and this makes the characters feel even more human. I think you'll understand what I mean when you watch the movie. This movie is a true character study, and provides us with a peak into their lives. Go see it!

Discovered a sparkling gem of a movie after entering theater with no expectations.

Well written with en pointe acting. You really care about the characters. Surprising angles to the story.

Siobhan Fallon Hogan unfurls the colorful, quirky, broken, caring, "do it" with passion character, Val, with brilliant acting. Her heart is on her sleeve. Her determination is steel strong.

Dignity. Respect. Hope.

The giving, receiving & embodiment of these values thread through this story.

And....to what ends?

See this intelligent, thought provoking, smile motivating & tear inducing movie. Tell your friends to do the same.

Destined to be one of the top movies of 2023.

It certainly is one of my favorites.

I saw this film at a film festival and enjoyed it from start to finish. Fantastic film filled with great performances all around. Siobhan Fallon Hogan especially kills it, with great charm and charisma in ever scene she's in. She goes through a range of emotions and a solid character arc and it is consistently entertaining throughout. The supporting cast as well kills it. It's also a very timely film, set during the COVID-19 pandemic and as such is both very relatable and also will serve as a great time capsule for the future to show future moviegoers what life was like during this period of time. Overall, I highly recommend.

Comedy, crime, and drama--all beautifully weaved together to tell a tale of lock-down, incarceration, friendship, family, faith, and so much more.

It's really satisfying to begin seeing films that take place deep in the pandemic. And to see these characters surviving the very thing we've all just been through while also telling a story that goes beyond politics, beyond the expected, is just really enjoyable and exciting.

Siobhan Fallon Hogan and cast give fantastic, authentic performances that shouldn't be missed. Something like Dancer in the Dark meets Monster's Ball, this film is highly recommended for all.

Shelter in Solitude is a captivating story of death row inmate with just days to live and the impact he felt from a wannabe country western singer and a small community of people during COVID times.

Directed by Vibeke Muasya the movie stars the wonderful actors Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Robert Patrick, Peter Macon, Dan Castellaneta and Peter Hogan. I had the honor of seeing it at Kevin Smith's first film festival-- SModCastle Film Festival--in Atlantic Highlands New Jersey.

This fantastic, small-town love story about a tragic inmate in despair who finds an unusual friend with faith and a warm heart, is touching and enjoyable for all. Funny, compassionate, relatable, surprising and with a great cast, excellent music and perfect backdrop make this a Must-See Film!

Fallon Hogan's Tour de Force

I enjoyed this tender tragicomedy which showcases veteran actress/comedienne Siobhan Fallon Hogan's many talents. Her hard luck character Val Fagan is a lonesome tavern keeper and former Ole Opry vedette looking for love in all the wrong places whose life is spiraling out of control as the pandemic hits. She is maligned and robbed, but finds purpose and redemption at the height of Covid when she finds herself working as a death row prison guard. Her relationship with her brother, the warden, portrayed by Robert Patrick, is rocky but touching, as they manage to join forces to provide a semblance of compassion, if not justice, to the prisoner, portrayed by Peter Macon on death row.

A great film with a meaningful message. Impressive work and would see again! It will make you laugh, cry, feel compassion, love and truly think about how you treat people in your day to day life and what is important. Treat people with kindness as we have lost that in our busy days!

During the movie you felt drawn to the screen and the plot from minute one.

The movie was done as a family project which to me makes it even more meaningful.

Grab a friend and get your popcorn, some cookie dough bites and go see this movie. It's worth your time to go see and you will enjoy every second of the film.

Seriously, go see this movie you won't be disappointed. I go to the movies once a week and am often times disappointed. This movie on the other hand, I can honestly say will make you smile, laugh and even bring a tear to your eyes....great ending. Hoping for a sequel. The lead was truly hilarious. Also, the cop will make you roll over laughing. Cant wait to see another film with these characters and director. There are multiple big names in this movie including Siobhan Hogan among others. Cant wait to stream this production again when it comes out. Congrats to all involved. 10/10 10/10 /10 10/10.

This movie is amazing!! The acting was beautiful I felt entirely immersed in the story. The sound track was perfect and I can't wait to watch it again!!! 10/10 would recommend my friends and I couldn't stop talking about it. It's a must see!!! The story was both moving and inspiring it perfectly encapsulates the reality of the characters situations. Actress Sioban Hogan does a stellar job pulling heart strings throughout the emotional movie. I can't wait to go back to the theatre to see it again and catch anything I may have missed! The story was so good I can't wait to be able to watch it at home with my family!

Great movie with great actors and actresses. The story was powerful and was broken up with just enough humor. Would highly recommend a watch. The fact that this movie utilized a cast of many local people to the Cazenovia NY area was amazing. The scenery as well as the locations featured in this film where well thought out.

This movie reminded Me of "The Green Mile" in a sense. It is a tragic but uplifting story at the same time. The lighting effects and cinematography are amazing. Sound techs and the entire production crew must be top notch. I encourage anyone who would like to see a heartbreaking and heartfelt movie to take the time to watch. Great movie!

Saw Shelter in Solitude this past week on Apple TV, and there is so much to love about this film. Beginning with Sioblan Fallons performance, and apparent versatility as an actor. Known mostly for her comedy roles, Sioblan plays a washed up singer who gave it her best shot in Nashville, before eventually going back to her home town, opening her own music venue and showing her talents there. The music in the film is exceptional and Sioblan sings a bunch of songs that I felt could easily become hits. Great story, great actors and excellent production values. Reminded me a little of the Green Mile, where a death row inmate becomes intimate with his guards leading up to the day of execution. Lot's to love about this film. High recommended.

What a fantastic movie! The entire cast was extraordinary: Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Peter Macon, Robert Patrick, and Peter Hogan. You laugh, cry, pray & hope. Cinematography, acting, writing, and music are all Oscar-worthy. Siobhan Hogan is hysterical & captivating. Val, what a character. Peter Macon pulls at your heart strings. I went to see Shelter in Solitude with my friends and we couldn't stop talking about the movie. And I couldn't stop thinking about the movie. It wasn't the ending the we were expecting, which is always a plus. Engaging plot, historically accurate about a very troubling time in our country. You must see this movie!! Someone will get nominated for an Oscar!

I loved this film...many layers to it and I have to see it again. Acting was excellent. Very interesting how they were able to make the film funny, sad and suspenseful all at the same time. This also does not look like a low budget film...not sure how they accomplished that but loved the scenery and the settings. So impressed with Siobhan Fallon Hogan... that she wrote, acted and produced as well. Brilliant acting by Siobhan Peter Macon and Robert Patrick as well as the new young actors. I loved the natural way faith was portrayed. It was very inspiring but real as well....which I think is unusual. I wish there more new films like this to see in theaters.

Is Siobhan Fallon Hogan a pal of mine? Yes. Does the fact that I love her movie have anything to do with our relationship as friends? No. This movie stands alone as a beautiful and delicate examination of an unlikely friendship between a boozy, floozy country singer and a prisoner on Death Row. The character development and arc of both characters is right on the money, organic, real and natural. It's a funny film too -- not because of any slapdown, slapstick one-liner stuff, but because of the realness of the characters and how they relate and respond to one another. It's a captivating story, and it's worth every penny of your ticket. Go see it.

A Powerfully Engaging Film

Oct 10, 2023 What a moving, entertaining, and thought-provoking film! It is beautiful to watch (Matthias Schubert, Director of Photography), finely tuned, thanks to the direction of Vibeke Muasya, and powerfully relatable to the people and themes we find every day in our lives. The setting in the early days of Covid and all the mystery of that time succinctly demonstrates the mystery and confusion that so many faced. The vulnerability and isolation for so many in all walks of life living through that time is palpable. Siobhan Fallon Hogan has succeeded once again (see RUSHED, if you haven't already) in creating clear, honest, and memorable characters with whom we can see, understand, and empathize/sympathize. The cast and crew have created a finely crafted work of nuanced relationships, emotions, and messages. Don't miss it!!!

Lovely way to let Christ do his work in these characters during the time of pandemic and when we need Christ the most. May we all find the courage to sit with our "Jackson" during someone's time of need.

I love the small town feel and the aspects of the pandemic that pushed limits and out these characters into some interesting situations. The brother and sister relationship feels real as we all play a part to care for one another.

The characters feel as real as the people that play them. This film is to the point with humor in the pain. We need more honest movies like this one!

Jackson needed someone in his time of need to send him a miracle to believe in God and he go just that!
