Amazing final episode and great part 2
Haribo5621 November 2022
This episode was amazing it leads you to expect something that does not eventually come true. It is very hard to explain so I would just watch it, honestly amazing episode 10/10 stars. The season as a whole was great, I would say it was definitely better than season 1 as the characters seemed more fleshed out and everything had become stronger and better. For example the Sci-fi concepts where more intersecting and engaging in this season (on par with Rick and Morty) and the series was able to get much more emotionally intense in this season. As well as that it still maintains its witty sense of humour, great animation and fun charters. Honestly I would just watch it I don't think you will regret it.

Hurt me beyond repair

Warning: Spoilers
I loved it, it made me super emotional Inside job deserves an award for this one.

Actually gasped.

Reagans speech was so emotional and beautifully delivered made it really hard not to tear up especially cause they were so in love. Her choosing not to forget the whole brain washing thing was ultimately the right thing to do in my humble opinion. In the end I loved loved Bret's character growth, him recognizing Reagan's hurt and he was READY to do anything for her. Ahhh... the heart break. Although I'm hurt I will sleep well knowing they are okay because they have each others back. And a dog... well...

Surprisingly emotional, touching and with one of the most crushing endings

Warning: Spoilers
Dang, the writing in this show is good, so was this episode's premise, pacing, dialogue, performances and ending. At times, it handled itself more seriously and didn't hesitate to slow things down and add depth, which I can only commend (the tempo was just a weeny bit lacking at times) and compared to the previous, fast-paced and high-stake Project Reboot, this was the perfect break to look back on all that's happened and will happen. The whole action was handled with surprising consistency for adult animation and balances both the serious and humorous moments really well. And, naturally, the ending rips your heart out, douces it with gasoline and strikes with a 300 million voltage lightning. Now that Ron got his perfect life, let's hope Reagan will eventually get hers. I love media where characters make actual sacrifices instead of taking them back for stupid reasons, but a snippet where Reagan watches Ron live happily with his wife and daughter with a sad smile would be really nice later on.

Welp, now I'm off to carry that weight.

Near perfect mix of everything

Appleton really has almost everything you could ask for in a season finale. There's mystery, comedy, action, tough choices, emotion, beautifully woven character arcs reaching their high points, and of course a basketball playing dog. It is really uncommon to see all this play out so well in any kind of series, animated or not. Sadly this also looks to be the end of the entire series, right as it found itself and reached its peak greatness. I almost wish I had a memory eraser gun so that I could see the entire Part 2 again for the first time (no, not really, please don't target me Illuminati!).
