Style over substance

Warning: Spoilers
"Passage" is a 20-minute short film from 6 years ago directed by Shekhar Kapur and written by Amy Kaufman and Sheila Callaghan. This trio has quite a respectable body of work, including "Elizabeth", "Shameless" and "Y tu mamá también" only to mention a few names. The music comes from the Academy Award winning A.R. Rahman. And also the three actresses in here have played major characters in some pretty famous films, especially Julia Stiles of course. However, the outcome is a bit disappointing. There is no dialogue in here, just a voice singing in the background while we see the characters' interactions. As a whole, it is really style over substance and quite a bit on the cringeworthy pretentious site if you ask me. They seemed to have forgotten to come up with a convincing story in the face of making this film look as artistic as possible.
