A really fun episode here. Played into some unhealthy stereotypes, but was both funny and you got invested in what will be next for Emily. So far a decent second season for the program.

Disgusting

What a disgusting portrayal of Ukrainian women. Probably worst thing I have ever seen on a TV screen. The episode has absolutely nothing common with reality. Can't even believe that it was produced by a large group of people who thought it was fine.
You can tell that the episodes with Petra were put into the show artificially and have nothing to do with the plot. In my opinion it can only activate two responses in the audience - either disgust or confusion. It's not funny or dramatic or of any value. Shameful production.
At the same time it is quite funny that Netflix portrayed that image of a Ukrainian woman as a low-life prostitute, while Netflix itself prostitutes by shooting this episode to serve someone's agenda and getting paid for doing so.
As a Ukrainian man I can tell for sure that in reality Ukrainian women are beautiful and gentle. You can find girls like Petra everywhere in all the countries of all nationalities. They will just have names Christal, Amelie or whatever. How long will the movies continue portraying Ukrainian girls as dumb prostitutes? Is this how producers and directors see their audience as well, clueless and uneducated? Or they themselves clueless and uneducated and just don't know better? I guess russian money have all the answers in this case.
The fact that the episode is still online and hasn't been deleted or altered shows double standards in the movie industry. If it touched one of the many other topics, the whole crew would have been cancelled, but I guess perpetually portraying Eastern European girls as prostitutes in every second or third movie is completely fine with everyone. Women's rights are in check. Well done.

Disrespectful episode that directly harms and humiliates the whole nation just for fun. Petra is the most disgusting character I've ever seen, full of worst stereotypes. She is here just for contrast with other good ones, without plot line and any good feature. It's named xenophobia, one of hideous problems nowadays in one line with sexism, racism and other discrimination.
It's just big hate!

The portrayal of Ukrainian women is actively hateful and based on untrue stereotypes. It had no relevance to the overall plot and was thrown in just for the sake of it. It's disgusting. Netflix has produced a documentary about Ukraine's fight for freedom, and yet has also produced this hateful garbage that furthers untrue stereotypes and xenophobia.
Is this for real?

Warning: Spoilers
I utterly agree with previous reviews regarding the portray of the Ukrainian character.
Besides, isn't it infuriating to listen to Emily's French? Of course, it's not related to have a foreign-accent, but to me (and Camille) what reflects is a lack of effort. Plus, she had the guts to be offended as not to be moved up another level.

Xenophobia

This episode is offensive to Ukrainian women. It creates a very harmful and untrue stereotype. Just look at the CV of the actress who played Petra. She speaks five languages and has an extensive educational background, among other admirable traits. Ukrainians of her generation usually speak a few languages and have a high educational percentage rate; 70% of the population have secondary or higher education. But for the producers of Emely in Paris, it seems to be a grey territory!!!
They can avoid naming nationality, which would not harm a storyline. I wish they edit it to remove the offensiveness.
