Not the best and yet not the worst Iranian animation product, 'God Loves the Storks' was a late '90s fresh Iranian attempt at a commercially successful animation project, which did get good reception by viewers at its time.
The storytelling is simple, and while targeting young viewers, it could also charm an older audience.
As its name suggests, the show maintains itself in a religious climate, marked with dialogues and images that are particularly Islamic (such as almost all female characters, except for the little girl, observing full Islamic dress code). This is not unexpected, since it is a state television product. It is to be noted, however, that since the story is set in a village in northwestern Iran, this whole atmosphere is rather forced and not very compatible with reality.
This was a popular show back when I was a kid. A bit nostalgic for us Iranians of late Gen Y and early Gen Z. Perhaps not a show I would ever watch again, but still remarkable. The soundtrack, in particular, is quite memorable.
