I have been a fan of this series since it's inception. Unfortunately, it is having a slow and steady decline. Almost nothing in this episode advances the story or the characters. The multiple time frames gimmick is getting really old, and this was the choppiest episode in the entire series. The point has already been made about Kate and Becca's reconciliation. This episode just "beat it to death" with an excess of sentimentality with no new insight. By far the best part was the nearly wordless introduction of Beth opening and then having to close her dance studio during the COVID lockdown. This first 5 minutes was very poignant, proving that less is more. At the end, we have Zoe reappear into Kevin's life literally out of nowhere, which didn't make sense. A similar show "A Million Little Things" started out slow and has gotten better each season. "This is Us" started out with a bang, and it has degenerated into repetitious stories and maudlin sentimentality. The writers need to wake up and give it some freshness. Until then, I might stop watching.
