Chef David Burke has built a massive name for himself through decades in the culinary industry. Originally from New Jersey, Burke took his career to new heights at a young age while working in nearby New York City, and has since opened restaurants all over the world, from the United States to Saudi Arabia.
Of course, during that time, fans became familiar with Burke from his appearances on TV shows like Top Chef and Iron Chef America. But after spending time on both, Burke revealed he prefers the former.

Burke has made a number of TV appearances. Back in 2005, he appeared on Iron Chef America, where he cooked in competition with Bobby Flay. The two had to make a knockout lamb dish, and ultimately, Flay beat Burke.

Peel appeared on Top Chef Masters and as a judge on Top Chef in 2009 and 2010. Peel also made appearances on Hell’s Kitchen, Knife Fight and Kitchen Nightmares.
Campanile was a favorite among Hollywood power players in the 23 years it was open. The James Beard-winning restaurant stood at 624 South La Brea before closing its doors in 2012. Fox has ordered Crime Scene Kitchen, a new baking competition series with a twist, with Joel McHale set as host. Chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp will serve as judges on the series, from Fox Alternative Entertainment and Fly on the Wall Entertainment, set to premiere Wednesday, May 26 on Fox.
Crime Scene Kitchen is described as a culinary guessing game in which bakers must decode what type of dessert was made, when all that’s left are the crumbs, flour trails and a few elusive clues. They must then recreate the recipe for Stone and Gampp, who will determine how closely it matches the missing dessert – and how good it tastes.
“Crime Scene Kitchen is unlike any cooking show out there,” said Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment and Specials, Fox Entertainment. “It’s a truly original format with amazing baking creations, a brilliant play-along guessing game for the whole family,...

Last week on “Top Chef,” the four remaining All-Stars – Stephanie Cmar, Kevin Gillespie, Melissa King and Bryan Voltaggio – had to prepare two courses that showcased the city of Parma’s edible specialties, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto di Parma ham. Bryan got a harsh critique from one chef, who groused that his dishes lacked soul, but in the end Kevin was eliminated for his poorly cooked pork and overly salty brodo. That left three chefs going into the show’s supersized finale, so who took the $250,000 prize and the title of Top Chef? Read on for our minute-by-minute takes on the 14th and last episode of Season 17, “Finito!”

“Top Chef: All-Stars L.A.” ends tonight, June 18, after 14 weeks of grueling culinary competition with three chefs vying for the title and the $250,000 grand prize that goes along with it. So who has the advantage: Stephanie Cmar, Melissa King or Bryan Voltaggio? Fans of the show have been placing their bets here in our predictions center every week, and those predictions are combined to calculate our official racetrack odds. You can make your predictions too.

I’ll admit, after the first half of “Top Chef: All-Stars L.A.,” if you had told me that Stephanie Cmar would make the final three, I might not have believed you. She struggled early on in the season, and there were a few weeks when it seemed like she was hanging on by a thread. But you can never say never on this show. Cmar eventually found her groove and even exceeded her own expectations. Now that she’s among the final three, she’s so close to the title she can taste it.
Things started off well enough for Cmar. She was on the winning team in the very first elimination challenge along with Gregory Gourdet and Jamie Lynch, both of whom she has outlasted. But over the next six weeks she was at the bottom four times, so things weren’t looking too good for her future on the show.

Bryan Voltaggio came into “Top Chef: All-Stars L.A.” with one of the strongest track records of any of the contestants. He was a runner-up in season six of the cooking competition series, and then he was the runner-up again when he competed on the spinoff “Top Chef Masters” in season five. But he has been hit-and-miss this year, and in “Parma,” the penultimate episode of the season, he got some of his harshest critiques. Will that hurt his confidence, or can he recover for a come-from-behind victory?

The “Parma” challenge was to create two dishes showcasing Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and prosciutto di Parma. He landed in the bottom two with Kevin Gillespie, but even though Gillespie was the one who had to pack his knives and go, Voltaggio didn’t come out of the final judgment unscathed.

Bryan Voltaggio came into “Top Chef: All-Stars L.A.” as one of the most experienced competitors. He has competed on the show twice before, and finished in second place both times. Now it looks like he’s a dark horse to finally win, but based on the combined predictions of fans who have placed their bets here in our predictions center every week, it looks like he might be doomed to second place yet again.
As of this writing Melissa King is the front-runner to win. She previously competed in season 12 in Boston, where she finished fourth. But she currently gets leading odds of 5/2 this season because she has finally risen back to the top of the weekly challenges after experiencing a lengthy rough patch. After winning three of the first seven elimination challenges she was thrown off her game during “Restaurant Wars,” which was her first of three consecutive weeks at the bottom.

Restaurant Wars is the most anticipated elimination challenge of any Top Chef season.
It's a worthy way of testing the cheftestants' skills and makes for dramatic TV.
Most of all, it has resulted in some of the most shocking eliminations in Top Chef history.
The concept of the challenge is this: the cheftestants divide into teams to open up a pop-up restaurant.
Leadership is essential to winning Restaurant Wars, which is why the strongest competitors often take or have the executive chef position thrust upon them.
Unless the person in charge of the front of the house causes the team's loss, the executive chef takes the fall and is eliminated from the competition.
Notable Restaurant Wars casualties include Tre from Top Chef Season 3, Dale from Top Chef Season 4, Kristen from Top Chef Season 10, and -- the newest addition to the list -- Kevin from Top Chef Season 17.

Comcast and NBCUniversal are pushing Peacock out of the nest starting Wednesday, April 15, promising to unfurl a rich plume of 15,000-plus hours of streaming content, first for the cable giant’s own TV and internet customers.
Peacock is then slated to be available across the U.S. on July 15 — while NBCU is mulling the possibility of moving that up sooner — in various three tiers across mobile, web and connected-tv devices: paid with ads ($4.99 monthly); paid with no ads ($9.99 monthly); and completely free with ads with a truncated content lineup. With the national launch, Comcast (and Cox) subscribers also will have the option to get an ad-free version of the service for an additional $5 per month.
So what’s on the menu? Peacock will include live and on-demand content across current and past TV shows, movies, news, and late night programming, with some live sports once they resume post-pandemic. Most of...

The biggest question going into the finale of "Top Chef Duels," besides who would win, was how exactly the show would go from 10 chefs to one in a single episode. The answer: very quickly. "Top Chef Duels" has been the best "Top Chef" spin-off in part because it was friendly but tough competition between talented people, but also because each episode only had two contestants who served just five plates of food each. It was, for a show that has a countdown clock, very thoughtful and deliberate but never boring. Everything from the pacing to the slow-motion footage highlighted their technique and food. By comparison, the finale felt like fast food, quick and empty. At the end of that super-fast, chaotic hour, only one chef remained standing: Chris "Cj" Jacobsen, who never made it to the finals on either of his previous two "Top Chef" appearances, won the $100,000. Tiffani Faison,...
