Dark psychological thriller ... Decent watch!!

Web Series Review : The Tattoo Murders ( streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
#sanjuzzreviews #thetattoomurders #DisneyPlusHotstar
Meera Chopra plays Aditi Acharya, an exceptional police officer battling demons of her past, who has been tasked with catching a serial killer involved in the killing of young women in the seedy redlight district of Mumbai.
One thing which binds the cases together is the presence of a scorpion tattoo on the hands of all three victims. She enlists the help of a local don, Prahar Pratap (Tanuj Virani) in solving the case. Does this case have a connection to Aditi's past especially since Prahar bhai know a little too much about it than required.
Meera & Tarun form an unlikely cop- thug alliance in this dark psychological thriller and are shine in their respective roles. Anang Desai & Kulbhushan kharbanda too give an earnest performance.
Though not in the same league as Aranyak or The last Hour, this one is still a decent watch giving the viewers a tour of the seedy underbelly of Mumbai and Kolkatas redlight districts. A bit on the darker side with some cringeworthy moments. Slick editing and a better storyline for seasoned actors like Kharbanda and Anang Desai was something that could've been worked better by the makers.
The Tattoo Murders is a 7 part series with each episode having a runtime of around 30 mins. Not a bad bingewatch option!!
I am going with a 3/5 for this one .. Adios !! 🙂

Good story. Could have been so much better.

Kamathipura has a great story and could have been so much better than it is. To start with, they should have picked a better actress for the leading lady. Also, the direction and editing could have been so much slicker. Overall a good series but it could have been so much better.
is this police

The lady inspector what they have shown is a real insult to Mumbai police
The cop character is designed and played in a very drastic way there is no screen impression or hard hitting dialogues from this cop..she has a mental problem from years and which is solved within 2 minutes
The script is so bad that every time a cop goes to a gangster and plead him to help the police to find murderer..the direction is in such a way that a murder mystery is solved without any action ,chase ,torture scenes
Don't have any more words to share.

Sasta wala Savdhaan India....

I've had expected more from Meera Chopra but she is just below to below average in this series. The police role doesn't suit her at all. Story was good but the screenplay was so boring that it couldn't be watchable. Waste acting by all the supporting actors. Cinematography is good and in the end some twist and suspense revealed which is just ok otherwise totally waste of time....
Must watch

Pathetic Acting
priyanka_harbola18 April 2021
This web series compelled me to give my first ever review on imdb. The acting of the lead actress has ruined the entire series. There is nothing in her that will make you believe that shes a cop. No expression and such slothy acting..with better acting, the web series would have been better. The storyline isnt that bad but hardly anyone would want to watch such slothy characters.
Not Spine Chilling But Still Worth Watching Thriller
gursons23 May 2021
Yesterday November Story and Today Kamathipura/Tatoo Murder, enjoyed both. I will not say Tatoo Murder Spine Chilling Thriller but still A must watch thriller. Although veteren actors have not much to do but their screen presence is plus point. Meera Chopra very well handled the cop's role with physiological problem.
No real thrills and crime

Warning: Spoilers
This could have been much better if the writers were a bit more realistic.
Spoiler: The police turn to a criminal for information why not go get it themselves. Acting is average only bright spot is the lead actress the others are not that good. Another goof that's glaring. The doctor phones the father of the lead actress and he doesn't remember who the doctor is or why she is calling or what it's about. After several minutes he then remembers who the doctor is. The right after he insists that he doesn't know who the doctor is he admits that he was trying to find that same doctor to get help for his daughter, but couldn't find her number. Major script flaw. This is not worth watching as it has so many flaws and is too unrealistic.

Lead actress's acting is pathetic.. wonder how she got the lead role..
mayank-813-3786817 April 2021
Watching just the second episode but can say now that the lead actress 'Meera Chopra' had done a pathetic job in terms of acting.. Worst.. can't say much about the story line and will edit my review if I plan to finish it. But again pathetic acting by each one of the cast except the lead negative character.
Totally avoid. Title is a watch bait!

The title is the only catch this series has. The makers are banking on the name and location to get the crowd. But I think their budget got over after the snacks and drinks at occasion of deciding the name and location of story. After that, I think the actors must have funded it. Because it has sunk the series after the first 5 minutes. So pls see this series for 10mins and get motivated to write a review here, just so that such makers understand that such trash will not and should not be permitted.
Worthy Performance & A Worthy Show
rajanahuja-8350914 April 2021
There's no better example of getting into the shoes of a character than Meera Chopra's performance as Aditi Acharya, the scrupulous no nonsense female cop dealing with her dark past, in the series "The Tattoo Murders."
Not only has she claimed and owned the role with complete confidence and gusto, she has actually slipped under the skin of it and has given that skin her own inimitable color. She has successfully managed to capture the lingering melancholy as well as the unceasing hope of a complex character, with her subdued but Stellar performance. The surrender to the role/character of Aditi Acharya is total and complete.
The development of other characters too is well paced and organic. The investigative mystery is a "in your face" blunt commentary on the rampant social ills of our society built on a platform of a compelling intrigue, solid plot and worthy performances.
Nothing seems forced, fed or faked even though there are instances where the audience is given an oblique yet plausible rundown on the field of hypnotic healing which somehow gets weaved into the plot. The whole premise even if it seems inscrutable grows on you as it unfolds.
The nuances of the characters shine through and rightly so, through the subtle yet sublime performances especially that of the main lead, the protagonist. Every gesture, every expression, every flick, every movement and every word comes from deep within.
Rising up to the occasion and getting on the top of a complex characters requires a certain dedication and sincerity on the part of an actor, which in this case shines brilliantly through the screen and how.
The vulnerabilities and complexities of the characters, especially that of the protagonist come through too with the pace of the plot and with a absolute ease.
The audience is left with no choice but to get sucked into a constant play of well etched characters as well as into the thick of things that seem to be unraveling with each episode.
This is Meera Chopra's most captivating and honest performance and she has shown irrefutably that she is well on her way to growing into a consummate performer that she is striving to be. The raw intensity and the poise with which she carries off the role and pulls the audience by the scruff, is inescapable.
All in all, a show that is worth binging on and a show that lingers on you for sometime.

Great story line

The story line was very good, gripping and kept you wanting to know what happens next!
The reason I gave a 3 was because the acting was so poor by some of the Characters... Tanuj is one of my fav up and coming Actors but it was made so cheaply...
Very disappointed.
