The film was part of the Roadshow of the Trash Festival Berlin in 2016.
Two versions exist: one without any dialogue and another offering a mock-commentary by a fake film expert.
Most of the backgrounds seen between 21:33 and 21:50 had to be digitally replaced because they accidentally showed a german military base. This raised the cost of the movie by at least 27%, nearly preventing the movie being released on time.
As mentioned in the film's commentary, the meticulous director Tauber planted most of the forest seen in the film decades before filming began to ensure the "correct representation of his artistic vision". He actually made more money from selling the harvested wood from the forest than from the release of the film itself.
