It's capable of bringing down a T-Rex in prehistoric times, so just imagine the meal it could have with a modern-day menu. The massive Megalodon shark from Steve Alten's 1997 novel, Meg, will finally come to life on film via Warner Bros., but viewers now have a bit longer of a wait to see the ultimate apex predator make its splash on the big screen.
Multiple sources, including Variety, report that Meg will now be released in theaters (in 3D and IMAX) on August 10th, 2018, moving it several months from its previous March 2nd slot.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub (Last Vegas, National Treasure) and featuring a cast that includes Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Cliff Curtis, Rainn Wilson, and Ruby Rose, filming on Meg began last October in New Zealand, with shooting on the project also being done in China.

A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out,...

It appears the 2015 adaptation of "The Little Prince," the classic children's book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, has a bit of a twist: It's about a little girl's interactions with the book itself. Call Sartre, because that is some French meta business. Check out the trailer below. This is the French trailer; look forward to an English version with vocal efforts from Marion Cotillard, James Franco, Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Paul Giamatti, and Benicio del Toro. We'll get to the stunning animation in a second, but I love the strange connection between the protagonist and the prince in this trailer. Reminds me of how Disney presented "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" as a dive into an A.A. Milne book. Actually, there's a second Pooh Bear parallel here: The Keane song "Somewhere Only We Know" was also used in the trailer for the last Winnie the Pooh movie. Hm! Look...

Well, it's fair to say that last week's result on Strictly Come Dancing was a bit of a shocker. Now we've lost Pixie, there are only five couples left in the competition - and as if her surprise goodbye hadn't added enough pressure, they'll each be performing two new routines on Saturday night. Er, good luck, guys.
But what will they be dancing? And which songs have they got? Read on for the full list for the semi-final...
Caroline Flack & Pasha Kovalev
Dance One: Salsa to 'Maria' (Ricky Martin)
Dance Two: Foxtrot to 'Diamonds' (Josef Salvat's version)
Frankie Bridge & Kevin Clifton

Jay James has been eliminated from The X Factor.
He faced the sing-off alongside Stevie Ritchie, after host Dermot O'Leary announced they were the bottom two acts of the week.
Both acts performed in a sing-off, with James singing 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane and Ritchie performing Queen's 'Somebody to Love'.
The duo's mentor Simon Cowell had to choose which of his acts to send home, picking Ritchie, while Louis Walsh came to the same decision.
Mel B sent home James, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini sent the decision to deadlock.
Based on the public vote, James was then sent home.
Upon hearing the news, he said: "It's been absolutely incredibly, the people that I have met during this time have just been amazing."
Cowell said: "Jay, you've been a gentleman, a really nice guy to work with."

Whether it's to see which act can pull off the best Frank Sinatra swagger or who can put their own twist on a classic, Big Band Week on The X Factor is always entertaining.
Last night was as dramatic as Big Band Week should have been, with last-minute song change drama, questionable mash-ups and Louis still unable to name all of Stereo Kicks.
Join us back here at 8pm as we find out who's going home...
21:01So, the general opinion is that no-one is quite sure what happened. Anyway, let us know in the comments section below what you thought about tonight's show. See you next week!

I'm going to have to watch that again on ITV+1 to make sure that happened #xfactor

No.1's Week. Movie Week. '80s Week. Zzzzz.
Is it any wonder that X Factor ratings are tumbling when the show's theme weeks continue to be so predictable? Someone is singing 'Listen' from Dreamgirls you say? Gosh, we've never heard that before.
In the spirit of goodwill, we've got some suggestions that might spice things up and get some songs on a Saturday night that we haven't heard murdered 256 times before.
1. Sing Your Name Week
Inspired by the brilliantly named Ben Haenow, who could perform Crowded House's 'Don't Dream It's Over' ("Hey Now! Hey Now!"), everyone has to sing a song connected to their name.
Fleur East can tackle anything by East 17, Stereo Kicks can tackle a Stereophonics vs Rizzle Kicks mash-up, Lola Saunders can tackle the Kinks classic, Jack Walton could attempt 'Hit The Road Jack' and Only The Young could murder 'We Are Young'.

Tim Sommer, rock raconteur extraordinaire, recently wrote a playlist for Tim Broun's blog Stupefaction. (#1 choice shown above.) Mr. Sommer has lately been writing a daily column in The Brooklyn Bugle (motto: "On the Web because paper is expensive") that immediately became the one thing that I read every day, just so I can enjoy his combination of cultural erudition and lunatic whimsy. In one of his Bugle columns he wrote about making the list. And in that article he posited other approaches/lists that I found myself wishing he had made as well. But he's undoubtedly got better things to do with his time. I apparently do not, however (okay, I do, I just have poor impulse control), and made my own lists based on his criteria.
And here they are. I could have gone thirty deep on each of these lists just as he did on Stupefaction (well, maybe...

Lily Allen has such a sweet voice, but as fans of the British singer know, her words are lethally tart. She may sound like she’s all puppies, rainbows and unicorns, but there’s a dark sense of humor running through almost every song. On “Sheezus,” her first album since 2009’s “It’s Not Me, It’s You,” Allen takes pot shots at her fellow female artists (or, more specifically, those who try to divide them), online trolls, D-list celebrities, and anyone else within arm’s reach. Her trenchant, sharp social commentary often hits its bullseye, but it doesn’t always make for an album that feels like it will have a long shelf life. In fact, “Sheezus” often feels so of-the-moment that it threatens to evaporate into thin air at times. Having said that, few artists seem to understand their place as well as Allen: she is completely confident...
