- TriviaEpilogue: "In the early 1970s, Nasir Ahmed led a team of researchers who developed the Discrete Cosine Transform. This technique is still used by companies as part of their image and video-sharing technology. You don't know his name but Nasir and his team are responsible for keeping us connected today. He and his wife Esther recently celebrated their 56th anniversary. We video chatted to hear their story."
- Quotes
Rebecca Pearson: And even when we are old fogeys living out here in the woods one day like witches from some children's fairy tale, we're still gonna be close to them.
Jack Pearson: Didn't realize we were going to be witches.
Rebecca Pearson: Oh yeah, yeah, I'm gonna let myself really go.
Jack Pearson: Oh, okay.

The Most Clever&Poignant Episode of 2020/2021
A truly clever as hell and touching episode, it is one of the top three of Season 5. Thanks to the technology of contemporary cellphones with FaceTime, texts, and voice calls, all four Pearson couples are simultaneously connected from at least six different spots across the country. This theme of technology, love, and connection - and all things Pearson - is cleverly arched by the telling of the story of a seemingly unconnected couple's history and the impact of the husband's work on today's world. "This Is Us" chose to include the Covid-19 pandemic into its plot this season to praise and criticism, but there is no other episode of the show that does so in such scale and poignancy. It definitely deserves a 10/10 for how clever the edition of the non-Pearson couple is and how essential their role is to the episode.
