To make the bullying scenes more realistic, the "bullied" person(s) were not told what was going to happen.
A 2-Hour documentary that goes through almost every single day of production was created but never officially released. It is narrated by co-director David Zimmerman III and is very similar in formula to the documentary that was included on the Into the Woods DVD (2008).
During production, certain violent or explicit scenes were shot in a few different ways. They would shoot a "director's version" and then a "school cut version." This proved positive when the school board did not request any cuts to the version that was presented to them.
Three different hand-guns were used in the movie. One was a B.B. Gun, another was a painted plastic toy gun, and the last was a Hollywood prop gun. The prop gun was also re-used by the filmmakers in Before the Storm (2005), Into the Woods (2008), and several other Z3 Films projects throughout the years.
This is the 2nd Film Project by David Zimmerman III and Levi Obery. They were asked to make it by the principal of their high school, which they were both attending at the time. Production began during the Spring of 2003 and ended sometime in 2004. Production was loosely scheduled and was often altered because of the cast/crew's school and work schedules. The movie took approximately 50 Days to shoot.
