The Young and The Restless (Y&r) spoilers and updates tease a shocker as Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) needs space from Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
But is it really so shocking when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) finds out, she’ll move in to win him back?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – A Years-Long Rivalry
Phyllis and Jack were together when Diane first came to town, and it was Phyllis’ insane jealousy over Jack and rivalry with Diane that drove him away.
Jack and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) reckless evening at the Athletic Club will have lasting repercussions.
While Nikki used it as a wake-up call to seek help, the consequences of their actions were severe.
Jack’s relapse and the anger of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Diane are just the beginning of the fallout from that night. Victor issued a very stern warning to stay away from...

(This article is unintentionally a counterpoint to my colleague Owen Gleiberman’s considerably more-positive take on the Beatles’ “Let It Be” film, restored by Peter Jackson and released today on Disney+.)
When I was a Beatles-obsessed seven-year-old, my mother, in an act of selfless parental love, took me to a Fab Four film festival: “Hard Day’s Night,” “Let It Be,” “Yellow Submarine” and “Help!,” one after the other. My mom was a cool assistant professor of English at the local university who dressed “hip,” loved music and picked up some listening habits from her students. My obsession began after she brought home the “Sgt. Pepper” album a year or two earlier.
“Hard Day’s Night” was the Beatles the world fell in love with — sweet songs, charming cheeky personalities, matching clothes, screaming girls, moptops. But “Let It Be” was so different: the Beatles as grown-ups, real people who weren...

You’ve probably meditated to John Lennon’s music before, but now you can officially do it on the app Lumenate.
Lennon’s estate partnered with the company to deliver nine meditation mixes of “Mind Games,” the title track to his 1973 record. The song’s mixes are slowed down and extended — with four focusing on the brain waves Beta, Delta, Gamma, and Theta — that work with the app’s frequencies to drive listeners deeper into consciousness.
In addition, the nine mixes are paired with the phone’s flashlight to create a trippy psychedelic experience.

The Beatles were the best rock ‘n’ roll band ever, but there was one way in which Michael Jackson surpassed them. The King of Pop was simply a better entertainer than the Fab Four. That is not to say he always made superior music — but the “Thriller” singer had some gifts that The Beatles did not.
1 way Michael Jackson’s era was better than The Beatles’
The Beatles gave the world many of the best and most innovative pop songs of all time, including “Tomorrow Never Knows,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” and “A Day in the Life.” However, their live performances never quite lived up to the magic they made in the studio. They would play professionally, but they weren’t much for razzle-dazzle. They were a band of their time. The Beatles stopped making music before 1970s acts like David Bowie, Kiss, and Alice Cooper revolutionized live shows and made them more theatrical.

After being discovered in an attic, John Lennon’s famous Help! guitar is headed to auction as part of the upcoming “Music Icons” sale at Julien’s Auctions on May 29 and 30.
Both Lennon and George Harrison played the Framus 12-string Hootenanny acoustic guitar while making Help! — both the album and accompanying film — as well as Rubber Soul. Lennon can be seen strumming it in the performance of “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” in the Help! movie, while it’s distinct 12-string shimmer also graced songs like “Help!”, “It’s Only Love,...

Let It Be is back? Nobody thought this day would ever come. The Beatles’ 1970 lost-lost documentary Let It Be has always been dismissed as the band’s tombstone. It’s a movie that people regard as a disaster but hardly anyone has actually seen, just like Magical Mystery Tour. Directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Let It Be came out in May 1970, right when the Fabs were splitting up, and went down in history as their “break-up film.” All four refused to show up for the premiere. Apple has kept it officially unavailable for decades.

The post, made by one of Musk’s favorite accounts @EndWokeness (a far-right account the Tesla CEO replies to incessantly), stated that “the number of voters without a photo ID is Skyrocketing in 3 key swing states: Arizona, Texas, and Pennsylvania.”

Miley Cyrus isn’t a rock singer, but she’s drawn a lot of influence from classic rock stars over the years. For example, one of her hits has some lyrical similarities to The Beatles’ “Help!” While many of The Beatles’ early songs were total fiction, John Lennon revealed that “Help!” was about his own life. The “Imagine” singer said that “Help!” was widely misinterpreted.
Miley Cyrus and The Beatles both showed a unique understanding of time
Love her or hate her, Cyrus’ career has had a lot of different textures. She’s released party songs (“We Can’t Stop”), soft-rock songs (“Mailbu”), disco tracks (“Flowers”), and an entire album of psychedelic experiments called Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. One of her more famous ballads is her hit “Younger Now” from her country-inspired record of the same title.

Apple TV+’s Palm Royale may be set in the late 1960s, but its greatest pleasures seem tailor-made for the age of the internet. Every shot of a socialite smirking over the rim of a cocktail glass plays like the perfect reaction Gif. The bitchy bon mots might as well be engineered for portioning into TikTok-sized soundbites, the outrageous plot twists for drawing gasps in the group chat. And the aesthetic — oh, the aesthetic! In a repudiation of the “quiet luxury” greige, this vision of America’s elite is awash in shimmering jewel tones and Lilly Pulitzer brights. You could build entire mood boards around the hippie-chic bookstore or the baroque mansion. I myself lost a good 20 minutes Googling between episodes for cat-eye sunglasses just like the ones featured on Maxine (Kristen Wiig).
But the eye-popping style is as good as the show gets; the fun ends where the surface does.

It was this past November — when CBS’ NCIS like most of TV was still on a strikes-extended hiatus — that Sean Murray marked the 20th anniversary of his debut as Special Agent Timothy McGee.
McGee in that span of time has become a husband… a father (to twins, whom apparently no one on the cast can name!)… and a lead agent, in the wake of Tony Dinozzo’s May 2016 departure. And yet there is still at least one more major life event on tap for Tim, when the next NCIS episode reveals a heretofore-unknown relative!

A feast for the eyeballs! That’s what the UK’s new TV drama (British shows returning for another series this year are here) output looks like for 2024 – a year of thrills, chills and laughs, from supernatural escapism to immersive historical dramas, true stories brought to life, and plenty to feed Britain’s crime mystery obsession.
Here’s a flavour of what 2024 holds for your TV: book adaptations include a new imagining of Ian Rankin’s Rebus detective stories coming to the BBC, a scandalous adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s iconic novel Rivals (starring David Tennant), Jack Thorne’s take on Lord of the Flies, and much much more.
There’s high-stakes action in thrillers like Red Eye, Black Doves and Nightsleeper, and you can transport yourself back in time to discover the lives of a notorious eighties jewel thief in Joan, sinister Jacobean power play in Mary and George,...

By the mid-1960s, George Harrison had grown weary of the fame that came with being in The Beatles. He did not want to tour and was growing increasingly resentful of the way John Lennon and Paul McCartney overlooked his songwriting. He said that part of the reason he was so exhausted was because he had to give everything to the band and its fans.
George Harrison said The Beatles gave everything they had to fans
Throughout the 1960s, The Beatles experienced a level of fame that was both life-changing and oppressive. They had the freedom to do practically anything creatively, but they couldn’t go out in public without fans ambushing them. Harrison said that this was an incredible amount of pressure to endure.
“We were put under the heaviest pressure,” Harrison said in The Beatles Anthology. “I don’t think anybody had had as much pressure as The...

In 1964, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr made their on screen debuts in The Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night. The film took advantage of their ever rising fame and was both a critical and financial success. The band also enjoyed shooting the film, though they found some parts of the process embarrassing. Lennon shared the scene he found tough to film and watch.

Whilst terminal illness and imminent death might not be the obvious source for a delightful surreal comedy, Yasmin Afifi has built a humorous and affecting world within those parameters in BAFTA nominated short Jellyfish & Lobster. It’s a touching and very personal project created as her graduate film at the National Film and Television School, which follows two non-conformist, unapologetic patients of a care home who refuse to let their illnesses or age define them. One of ten shorts that we highlighted as favourites in our Nfts Graduate Showcase recommendations at the start of the year, Jellyfish & Lobster rides on a surreal Cocoon-esque premise as a swimming pool becomes a vehicle for the anarchic pair to escape their reality and immerse themselves in the draw of past youthful vibrancy. Afifi delicately balances real and magical elements on screen, rendering the well-honed script all the more powerful and recently spoke...

Joe Perry of Aerosmith was asked to name his favorite Beatles song and he picked a classic track from The White Album. The tune in question doesn’t sound much like Aerosmith’s hits, but it was innovative nonetheless. Perry also revealed what he thought when he heard that one of The Beatles died.
Aerosmith’s Joe Perry loved a fusion song from The Beatles’ ‘The White Album’
During a 2009 interview with Cleveland.com, Perry named his favorite Beatles song: “Tomorrow Never Knows,” from The White Album. “Tomorrow Never Knows” is one of the most famous examples of raga rock, a genre fusing Indian classical music with Western rock ‘n’ roll. While “Tomorrow Never Knows” is distinct from Aerosmith’s hits, Aerosmith did experiment with raga rock on their album Nine Lives.
Perry explained why the Fab Four are so important. “The Beatles did everything long before anyone else,” he opined.

Here is Deadline’s live blog of the hopefully new and improved Golden Globes. It’s a new iteration of the awards on CBS after the Globes’ longtime network, NBC, ended its relationship after the awards show’s previous management was scandalized by revelations that the now-defunct HFPA had no Black voting members, among other improprieties.
Now the Globes are a for-profit venture under Dick Clark Productions, which is co-owned by Deadline parent Pmc and Eldridge and run by Pmc CEO Jay Penske, with 300 voters (some of them paid) representing 76 countries.
The live blog again was handled by Deadline’s executive awards editor Joe Utichi and co-editor in chief Mike Fleming Jr, along with contributions by Deadline staffers who are at the Beverly Hilton on the red carpet, in the room and backstage. And as usual, we promise not to pull punches.

The Beatles gave us cult classic movies like Yellow Submarine and Help! It’s only fitting that John Lennon’s favorite movie was a cult classic Western. The movie in question is one of the most bizarre Westerns ever made. Fascinatingly, the director of the film said multiple rock stars connected with his work.
John Lennon loved a cult classic Western movie with a heavy dose of mysticism
Alejandro Jodorowsky is a surrealist filmmaker whose movies are like Salvador Dalí paintings come to life. According to Wired, John’s favorite movie was Jodorowsky’s mystical Western El Topo. The film is about an outlaw called El Topo (Spanish for “The Mole”) who becomes a holy man in a landscape filled with Judeo-Christian and occult imagery.
During a 2011 interview with Interviews with Icons, Jodorowsky discussed John’s relationship with the film. “I was lucky because of rock ‘n’ roll,” explained Jodorowsky.

Makeup artists, set decorators, props suppliers and other workers across Hollywood gathered outside of City Hall in Los Angeles on Thursday, pushing government officials to offer more assistance amid the actors strike.
The below-the-line workers — joined by actors, writers and directors — called for an increase to unemployment benefits, as well as for Gov. Gavin Newsom to intervene in negotiations, with the aim of pressuring the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers to stay at the bargaining table and make a deal with actors in order for them to return to work.
“We’re out here, because we felt like six months without work is something the government should pay attention to,” said Farah Bunch, a makeup artist with International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 706 who helped organize the rally. “People are losing their whole livelihoods.”
The gathering started at noon just as the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA were scheduled to return to negotiations.

The elusive feature adaptation of Paulo Coelho’s popular novel The Alchemist has gone from lead to gold — again.
Legendary Entertainment has secured the film, TV and ancillary rights to develop a feature based on the classic novel, with TriStar Pictures on board to release. Jack Thorne — whose film credits include Enola Holmes and The Swimmers — is attached to write the feature adaptation of a popular 1988 novel that has seen a road to the big screen as winding as the traveler’s philosophical journey in the book.
Laurence Fishburne had wanted to develop Coelho’s best-selling book for 16 years after acquiring the film rights from Warner Bros. Pictures with the intent of making the movie themselves. Warners acquired author Coelho’s book — about a traveler journeying the world during the Inquisition in order to find man’s purpose in the world — in 2003 as a Fishburne vehicle.

It didn’t take long for The Beatles to go multimedia. As Beatlemania took over the world, they added movies to their output with A Hard Day’s Night and Help! in 1964 and 1965, respectively. They were on top of the world; even the songs they abandoned turned into hits. The Beatles kept writing songs to soundtrack their movies, and these were the seven most successful.
The Beatles wrote soundtracks for five movies they starred in
The Fab Four made hay in the relatively short time they were together. Between 1963 and 1970, there wasn’t a year where they didn’t release at least one album. Add in hundreds of live shows, scores of interviews, television appearances, and recording hit non-album singles, and it’s a wonder they didn’t keel over from exhaustion.
With that kind of schedule, The Beatles might have preferred built-in time to blow off steam on their movies.

It seemed like Ringo Starr would do anything for The Beatles. He put up with Paul McCartney’s drumming instructions for years. He rushed to Yoko Ono’s side when John Lennon was killed. John Lennon was influenced by many early American rock n’ roll stars and sometimes found his influences taking control of his style. He once got in trouble for ripping off Chuck Berry and went through a phase where he tried to emulate Bob Dylan. One song by The Beatles featured John Lennon playing energetically on the piano in a style similar to Jerry Lee Lewis.

The Beatles first released “I’m Down” in 1965 as the B-side to “Help!”.
