The first episode of The Midnight Club is well written and intriguing enough. It passes so quickly and the pacing is top notch. Ilonka is a character you can get behind right away and feel for. The hospice has a bigger story to tell and I can't wait to find out more.
There's still mystery going on and the group dynamic is fun. All the characters seem different from one another and provide something to the table. You feel for the dad in this one, as he experiences a lot of emotions.
Once again, Mike Flanagan knows how to captivate an audience and tell stories within a story. It's about death, but acceptance and what you do with the information you have, how you can approach life with a terminal diagnosis.
