Episode 2

Baptiste's shaggy beard is a big clue to keep track with the two timelines that are 14 months apart.

Emma Chambers has captured Andras Juszt who was an initial suspect.

The hunt is on for Emma's remaining son. The other one was executed by Islamist terrorists live on video.

The episode drip feeds information to help the viewer complete the picture.

We learn how Baptiste's daughter died that help send him to a downward spiral.

The mystery also deepens. I noted that the terrorists used a phrase that was odd in the video. Baptiste was also sceptical about the video.

You do have to wonder just how much help the Foreign Office is when they seem to be hands off when their own Ambassador has a crisis.

Hit and Miss

I do get what is going on. The participants are eccentric, including the mother. There are tragic circumstances. But the plot is fragmented and it is hard to understand the specifics and where they are leading. The flipping in and out of time sequence could use some editing. I still look forward to seeing it play out.

Revealing.

Emma Chambers has taken drastic action in a bid to try and uncover the truth.

I'm very much enjoying it, I am still struggling to fully keep tabs on what's going on, but it is starting to open up, and we're getting answers to questions, including the fate of Baptiste's daughter, and who the man with the neck tattoos is.

The ending takes on a pretty shocking twist, it didn't go where I was expecting, but it's a good, shocking story development.

The acting once again is first rate, Fiona Shaw is very much a favourite of mine.

On the downside, it is still pretty slow.

Good, 6/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Bad from start to finish, the final episode turned into a predictable comedy.. when the mother started doing "staying alive" I felt like vomiting.
