Big Brother is a summer tradition, but suddenly, we’re feeling a chill in the air.
The CBS reality staple has announced a new six-episode special event, Big Brother Reindeer Games, premiering Monday, Dec. 11 at 8/7c, TVLine has learned. The holiday-themed edition brings back nine Big Brother “legends” to be named later (including one from the most recent season) to compete for a $100,000 grand prize. They’ll be guided by three of “Santa’s Elves” — Season 23’s Derek Xiao and Tiffany Mitchell and Season 11 and 13 vet Jordan Lloyd — as they face off in festive challenges, with one player going home each week.

When it comes to casting “Top Chef,” talent is the most important element a contestant must possess in order to compete. “Everything else comes second,” said Ron Mare, the Emmy-nominated Senior Vice President of Casting at Magical Elves, which produces Bravo’s long-running culinary competition. But it’s no longer necessarily a skill with knives that the casting team is looking for.
“You have to have that talent level in order to go on a show like this,” he continues, explaining that casting “Top Chef” is far different from the many reality series he’s handled in the past, like, “America’s Next Top Model” and “Project Runway.” As the series has evolved, so have the people cast on the show. While talent remains paramount, there’s more of an emphasis on compelling food stories, with host Padma Lakshmi telling “Entertainment Tonight” that “Top Chef” “shows audiences a very particular side of these chefs.

As if the fact its title works out to “Operation Black Operations” wasn’t enough of a warning, we’re not even two minutes into Operation Black Ops when the orange ring around the barrel of one of the character’s weapons is clearly visible.
Noah is on his knees spitting blood in a warehouse that’s playing host to an underground fight. Luckily for him, his opponent is busy celebrating so he has plenty of time to recover, get back up and knock him the fuck out with one punch. As he walks off he sees a man in a military uniform and motions for them to follow him.
That man is Georg Doerfflinger (Rafael Cansino; What No One Tells the Bride) and...

This Rings of Power review contains spoilers.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Episode 3
The Rings of Power episode 3 largely continues in the same vein as episodes 1 and 2. It’s stunningly beautiful (Orcs excepted), well acted, and continues to feel very much like part of the world we saw in Peter Jackson’s movies based on Tolkien’s works. But it is also rather slow-paced and weighed down by the need for substantial amounts of exposition.
Episode 3 introduces us to the last of the major cultures we will be following through this story – Númenor. We spend a lot of time in Númenor and with the Númenoreans early on in the episode, which helps us to get to grips with yet another new place and new characters, though it can leave viewers wondering just what’s going on elsewhere in the story. Like everything else in this series,...

I was very very excited when I heard Netflix had an all new Christmas horror series coming this year. There’s nowhere near enough Christmas shows and there’s even less Christmas horror shows.
In the Danish show Elves a family of four travel to a remote island in Denmark for Christmas. There arrival seems to bother the locals though and the electric fence surrounded the forests on the island is keeping something from escaping.
This is not what most people will think of when you think elves but it’s a really cool horror-filled take on the Christmas ‘creatures’. Because here they are definitely that, creatures. For much of this short six episode series we don’t see a whole lot of them. Well, we see a single baby elf and not too much else. There’s definitely a Gizmo from Gremlins likeness in the way the baby looks...

Where to Watch “Elves”: Netlix
There’s probably never a world where “Elves” wasn’t going to use a moody cover of a Christmas song over its opening credits. Sure enough, within a few minutes of the show starting, there’s a version of “Carol of the Bells” that’s even more ominous than its natural, Hallmark Channel resting state.
Embedded within the idea of calling a show “Elves” is a sly smile. “You thought you were clicking on a cute holiday rom-com with a Disney Channel alum,” it’s saying to any Netflix user giving the show a spin. If those credits didn’t clinch the idea that this is decidedly not the case, the ritualistic sacrifice of a cow that comes right before it is a big hint.
Instead, “Elves” follows the not-so-cozy holiday of a family looking for a Christmas...
