There are nine guards at the sugar processing plant when Alicia and Strand arrive. Two are killed by walkers and then there are none. The other seven are never accounted for.
If Morgan's wound could be smelt from several metres away in the open air as shown he would have a severe case of sepsis. He would be lucky to live one week and would have no chance of being able to fight after six weeks. Furthermore his treatment would require at the very least IV antibiotics but in all likelihood surgery to remove necrotic tissue. Removing the bullet alone would make little difference at that stage.
When attempting to corral the walkers out of the warehouse, Victor and Alicia should have known better to thin out the walkers before casually opening the gate and taking them on head-on, as this almost results in the plan failing and losing several people.
