The very beginning of the episode includes a new connection to the end of the previous episode. That concluded with Peacemaker playing a song on the piano. It was a surprisingly touching moment for the show as the DC character put his own twist on Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home." Despite John Cena's piano playing skills, it was not immediately clear why the song was chosen. This episode explains the deeper meaning behind the song choice, as "Home Sweet Home" was the last song Chris listened to with his brother before he died. It begins with the two boys jamming out to Motley Crue's song talking about their future, one that doesn't come for Keith tragically.
James Gunn is well known for his love of animals, but raccoons have become a more important creature to him through recent years. This is largely due to Gunn's involvement in Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Studios, where Rocket Raccoon is a central character. Gunn has been quite open that Rocket is the character he most relates to out of the franchise's characters.
The comic's version of White Dragon has fire-based powers that allow him to shoot flames out of his hands, which the suit helps control. White Dragon's powers are a bit different in Peacemaker, though. His powers appear to be entirely dependent on the suit and more energy-based than fire. The change isn't too different in terms of what he can do, as his heated energy blasts are still enough to blast holes through vehicles. He also has increased strength and the ability to fly thanks to a few different boosters.
The license plate on the car Vigilante takes from the White Dragons gang is "14WRDS", a reference to the infamous white supremacist slogan.
The title of this episode refers to 1981s song "Stop draggin' my heart around" by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty.
