Whether it is by choice or lack of better options (I suspect the latter) ITV persevere with 'Dancing on Ice', a show that peaked about ten years ago, believing that if they keep touting it as 'The Greatest Show on Ice' then someone, somewhere might be convinced.
And what a sad state of affairs it is, a waste of Torvil and Dean, as well as the sparkling chemistry between Holly and Phil.
While I'm sure Jason Donovan, Colin Jackson and Denise Van Outen are nice people, they've had many a go at this reality TV game (notably Strictly), and if they didn't give them the career boost they clearly are hoping for, then I don't hold out much hope that this will.
We've seen everything this series has to offer, even the golden ticket element is a rip off of BGT, but ITV continue to persist with the format, in an excruciating two hours a week prime-time slot I'm not sure it has any right to command any longer.
The two best moments were a brief moment of spontaneity between Holly and Phil, and Rufus Hound getting in a dig against the Tories.
Other than that this was weak indeed.
