Ghost Rider is one of the most popular Marvel characters fans have been clamoring to see in the MCU. However, fans have also debated over who should be the actor playing the Spirit of Vengeance on the big screen. While many believe that actor Keanu Reeves is the best fit for the part, another actor makes an equally worthy candidate.
Keanu Reeves has been a fan-favorite to play MCU’s Ghost Rider.
In the past, The Walking Dead-fame actor Norman Reedus publicly voiced his desire to play the role of Ghost Rider in the MCU. Given Reedus’ filmography and public persona, there is an argument to be made for him probably being better suited for the MCU’s version of Ghost Rider. Here is why Norman Reedus might be a better pick for Ghost Rider in the MCU.

The Walking Dead (Twd), an AMC series, is full of gory, outrageous moments that viewers will probably remember for years to come. There has never been a shortage of mayhem on the long-running zombie series, thanks to Robert Kirkman’s vicious characters, the walkers, and all the societal and personal drama. And Norman Reedus, who played the role of Daryl Dixon, knows a thing or two about mayhem.
Reedus’ character, a skilled tracker from the South who lives in his older brother Merle’s (Michael Rooker) shadow, was first introduced in the first season. As fans grew to love him and his go-to weapon, a crossbow, he would go on to become one of the most beloved characters on the show.

Similar to other Twd characters, Daryl has had a few moments throughout the show where some viewers have winced or turned away.

Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, is arguably the most riveting character in The Walking Dead franchise.
Calculating and cold-hearted at times but comforting when she needs to be, Carol walks the line between hero and anti-hero, never once failing to bring pathos to her character.
Imagine the intrigue of fans when AMC Networks announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 will be subtitled "The Book of Carol."
Hmm. We've got to do something about that title.
What does "The Book of Carol" mean, anyway? Is it a biblical allusion like The Book of Enoch or The Book of Eli?
Or is "The Book of Carol" in reference to a book Carol is writing during her time away from the original Grimes clan, perhaps a book of poetry inspired by non-confrontational walkers?
Carol's presence on The Walking Dead, while mesmerizing, is not exactly a strong narrative pull, at least as a singular protagonist.

The first season of “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” wrapped up last night, and it brought along with it a first look at “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.”

AMC opens up “The Book of Carol” in Summer 2024. Stay tuned.
As you may recall, the “Daryl Dixon” spinoff had originally been announced as a Daryl/Carol spinoff series, so it’s essentially returning to those original plans in its second season.
“The Daryl Dixon spinoff series tracks Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale.
In some ways, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live marks the end of an era for AMC‘s long-running zombie franchise.
As fans saw in the Rick and Michonne spinoff’s sixth and final episode, the story of The Walking Dead‘s central lawman appears to have come to a satisfying conclusion (for the time being at least). Following many years in the figurative and literal wilderness, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) return home to Alexandria in “The Last Time” where Rick reunites with his daughter Judith (Cailey Fleming) and meets his son R.J. (Antony Azor). It’s the rarest of occasions for The Walking Dead: an honest-to-goodness happy ending.
Of course, The Walking Dead isn’t a big fan of endings, happy or otherwise. Though the flagship series concluded with its 11th season,...

Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier have long been one of The Walking Dead‘s most beloved duos, but they’ve been separated in the franchise for some time. Melissa McBride made a triumphant return in the final scene of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1, and she’s back on the hunt for her friend in the first teaser of Season 2, titled The Book of Carol. In the teaser, released on April 1 (the morning after The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live concluded), Daryl (Norman Reedus) is in France trying to take down Marion Genet’s (Anne Carrier) car. Carol, meanwhile, is seen back in Georgia. It’s the moments immediately after her Season 1 finale appearance, where she came across a stranger driving Daryl’s motorcycle. She trapped the man in her trunk, and the season ended with her driving off down the road to the auto shop where he got it.

The Shudder streaming service is owned and operated by AMC Networks, which is why we’ll occasionally get a special episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, hosted by legendary movie host / drive-in critic Joe Bob Briggs, where Joe Bob presents an episode or two of one of AMC’s The Walking Dead shows. There was a special where Joe Bob showed the first two episodes of The Walking Dead, another where he showed the premiere episode of the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City, and one where he showed the premiere episode of the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Another spin-off series, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, is scheduled to begin airing on AMC on February 25th… and yes, of course, they’re going to have Joe Bob show the premiere episode of this one as well. AMC Networks — the company behind such cable channel brands as AMC, IFC and Sundance TV, as well as such streaming services as AMC+, Acorn TV and Shudder — reported a 23 percent drop in fourth-quarter U.S. advertising revenue Friday, following an 18 percent decline in the third quarter, a second-quarter drop of 17 percent and a first-quarter decrease of 20 percent.
After returning to streaming subscriber growth in the third quarter after two quarters of declines, the company added 300,000 subs in the fourth quarter to end 2023 with a total of 11.4 million.
The latest quarterly U.S. ad revenue update came for the final quarter of 2023, in which AMC Networks aired such original series as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Ad revenue dropped to $158 million for the period due to linear ratings declines and a challenging ad market, the company said.

A “Walking Dead” crossover among spin-offs might be in the cards, according to franchise chief Scott Gimple.
“I do have dreams of merging this all together, and I have [placed] little breadcrumbs towards that,” Gimple said during the 2024 Television Critics Association winter press tour. “You never know exactly when and how, because of a variety of reasons … I will just say, I’m building those pathways.”
Gimple warned that there “could be all sorts of pivots along the way” that might tweak his plans, pointing to cast and crew working on different projects who might not be available at the same time.
Gimple’s ambitions to weave “The Walking Dead” universe together started long before he created spin-offs “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” “Tales of the Walking Dead” and “The Walking Dead: World Beyond.”

Following in the footsteps of U.S. guilds, French TV crew members are poised to go on strike amid a battle with producers over minimum wages.
Labor union Cgt-spiac has sought a 20% increase on basic salaries for crew members working in production and post-production of TV shows, documentaries and unscripted content in France. But after several weeks of negotiations, the producers’ bargaining units offered a 5% increase for crew members earning €1,000 or less per week, and a 3% increase for those earning €1000 or more. The Cgt-spiac reacted almost immediately calling for a strike vote.
Crew members already went on strike for two days in mid-November, a stoppage that affected nearly 50 shoots, including Mediawan’s “Hpi,” season 2 of AMC’s “The Walking Dead : Daryl Dixon” and M6’s “Top Chef.” If union members approve another strike by the vote, the walkout will run for five days, a duration that could be extended.

The Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (you can read our review Here) is set to continue with a second season that will focus on Daryl’s good friend Carol, played by Melissa McBride – and because of that, the second season has the ridiculous (and ridiculously long) title of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. Thanks to a SAG interim agreement, the show was able to make its way through production while the actors strike was still going on… and now that the strike is over, Deadline has revealed that McBride is joined in the cast of the show by Manish Dayal.
Dayal just wrapped up a six season run on the Fox TV series The Resident. Some of his other credits include The Hundred-Foot Journey, Viceroy House, Holidate, Halt and Catch Fire, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

AMC Networks reported its third-quarter 2023 earnings Friday, revealing it had added 100,000 subscribers across AMC+ and its other niche streamers in Q3, following two straight quarters of declining subs.
Streaming subscribers stand at 11.1 million as of Sept. 30, up 1% from where they ended at 11 million at the conclusion of Q2 in June.
Meanwhile, U.S. ad sales were down 18% for the company.
AMC Networks lost 300,000 subscribers across its streaming services in Q1, falling from 11.8 million at the end of 2022 to 11.5 million by March 31. In Q2, that decline continued with streaming subs down to 11 million at the end of June.
In August, AMC Networks reported that, due to an update in subscriber definition, which no longer includes estimated subscriber conversions, streaming subscribers actually totaled 11.2 million at the end of Q1.
Domestic operations revenue fell 8% from Q3 2022. Content licensing increased 7% and subscription revenue was down 5%. Streaming revenue rose 9% and affiliate sales dropped 13%. U.S.

International production spending in France hit record highs in 2022, resulting in 2,220 shooting days that crested above $1 billion in promised investment — and public initiatives had a major role to play. In early 2020, for example, France updated its Tax Rebate for International Production scheme, supplementing a 30% across-the-board rebate with an additional 10% — applicable on all eligible expenses — for productions that spent $2.2 million with local VFX and post houses.
Clearly, such initiatives have already borne fruit, with (wholly) locally shot films like “The Nun II” in theaters before big-budget series such as Apple’s “The New Look,” Starz’s “The Serpent Queen” Season 2 and AMC’s “Monsieur Spade” hit airwaves. Local authorities are well into a campaign of internal improvement met with international outreach, all meant to shore up Gaul’s standing as a preeminent, full-service production destination.

It’s not every day that you see a spin-off that surpasses the legacy of the main series. Especially when the series has run for over a decade and garnered the kind of cult following that’s persevered through its weakest days. If you take a look at the mess The Walking Dead franchise has made with the majority of its spin-offs, Daryl Dixon will come as a truly bewildering surprise. It was never a matter of question that if The Walking Dead had to base a sister series on one of the characters that wasn’t Rick Grimes, it had to be Daryl Dixon. The scruffy, fidgety man who’s as comfortable wielding a crossbow and a flail as he’s hesitant to ever admit how soft his heart really is. The Walking Dead brand has been going strong for well over a decade. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 finale hinted at the reunion to come for best friends Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). The promo for Season 2, now titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol and set to premiere in 2024, teases the journey to find each other. It was announced before the finale, as part of the show’s presence at New York Comic Con, that McBride will be a series regular in Season 2, reprising the role she played for 11 seasons on the original Walking Dead. “I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away. The season finale of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” aired on AMC last night, and it brought along with it the tease that main show character Carol (Melissa McBride) will be joining Norman Reedus in the second season of the spinoff series. In fact, next year’s Season 2 of “Daryl Dixon” has officially been dubbed “The Walking Dead: The Book of Carol.”
As you may recall, the “Daryl Dixon” spinoff had originally been announced as a Daryl/Carol spinoff series, so it’s essentially returning to those original plans in its second season.
“The Book of Carol” opens up on AMC in 2024. Watch the teaser trailer below.
“The Daryl Dixon spinoff series tracks Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 finale.] Norman Reedus‘ Daryl Dixon was on a mission in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 finale, and it was the same mission he’s had all season long: get back home. What he didn’t expect was to feel at home somewhere else. Leaving home and finding you belong somewhere else was the emotional core of Season 1, so said showrunner David Zabel at Twd: Daryl Dixon panel at New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 12, where the finale was screened in full for the excited audience of Twd fans and press. That theme rang true in Daryl’s final moments of the finale, which on top of scoring the historic Mont Saint-Michel as its filming location for The Nest also filmed a Daryl-walker battle on the beaches of Normandy. The setting had deep emotional meaning for Daryl. As revealed to Isabelle (Clémence Poésy...

Ever since The Walking Dead Season 1, the franchise has often struggled to deliver satisfying season finales because the creatives were far more concerned about viewers tuning in for the next season.
With the impressive quality of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1, I was cautiously optimistic that the show would stick the landing.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 Episode 6 brought all of the season's significant conflicts simmering to the surface while flawlessly planting seeds for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2.
It's hard to believe that the season is already over, but AMC's decision to cap the spinoffs at six episodes per season is probably to thank for the breakneck pace of it all.
Daryl's journey to France has been chock-full of shocking encounters, but fighting in that arena must have been one of the most harrowing scenarios he's ever faced.

After six episodes following a desperate and homesick Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) battling his way through France, the first season of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” ended on Sunday with a surprising twist: Daryl literally missed the boat back to America. Spoilers ahead.
According to series showrunner David Zabel, Season 1’s plan was always to end with Daryl standing on a beach, choosing to stay in France with Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) rather than go home.
“That was really my first pitch on the story,” Zabel told TheWrap.
The executive producer explained that his series’ “central conceit” was always “in trying to get back home, what happens if you form a surrogate home in the place you’re trying to get away from?”
Zabel was careful to build to this emotional decision for Daryl. The first three episodes see Daryl slowly warming up to Laurent and Isabelle.
