Story Time

Whenever the Simpsons go back or forward in time or play other people to tell a historical or futuristic story it is always a good episode. This is no exception.

I'm not going to lie. I didn't like it at all. Two episodes in a row and both so average, lack of ideas, no creation left. Maybe it's time for The Simpsons to die? I loved it when I was a child but it's not aging like a good old wine :/

Decent episode

I enjoyed this episode even though it wasn't anything too special. It had a good storyline and decent narration but I wouldn't give it too much credit as it wasn't that funny.

Good Episode.

Very well structured with good direction and great comedic timing. Matt Selman has done it again.

When I first watched this episode it instantly became one of my favourite Simpsons Episodes, it's interesting, funny and very self aware.

Hilarious

"You jerks you knew I liked her!" 😂 Loved all the references and call backs. I think it's got such a low rating because it is maybe too niche for some people but I laughed the whole time. If you like history, Spartacus, or anything ancient Roman the jokes are A+

Great

I was very immersed in the story. The background art and the settings were beautiful.

And now I am very interested in the Roman times. I don't know much about the Simpsons but think this episode stands alone well as an entertaining piece of media. Maybe you will find it boring if you don't find the history fascinating.

Hitting new lows

Normally I like the history or movie episodes, although they might not be so creative, but they typically find a funny twist.

This time I really enjoyed nothing about it. It wasn't creative nor funny. I hate to say, but I even found it a bit discussing.

I wonder if someone want to kill the show, because it feels like they didn't want to create anything enjoyable.

God-tier episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was absolutely perfect. I focuses on and actual plot and doesn't get de-railed. The jokes in this episode are super funny and I was laughing out loud non-stop all the way throughout the episode. The story was very cool and Interesting. Mr. Burns becoming Emperor Montimus was great and homer refusing to release his friends from slavery was hilarious. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think this episode had more deaths in it than any other episode in the show. (not counting treehouse of horrors episodes). Anyways, this episode is amazing and you should actually go watch it right now.

Just boring.

So if you don't get the parody this episode will probably mean nothing to you. The episode is a parody of the novel I, Claudius. The problem with this episode, is that it just focuses on the one story. There is no usual A or B sideplot this time round. This makes the episode drown out and become very boring quickly. One problem I seem to be noticing with modern Simpsons is if the writers are out of ideas they make a parody episode. But there are too many parody episodes. Michael Palin is the Museum Guide , so of course they parodied the movie. For the entire episode none of the jokes made me laugh. I found the plot incredibly boring and the setting very uninteresting which goes on and on. Marge, for some reason is very out of character in this episode too, being a bit too impulsive than she normally is while they're at the museum.

The only funny part was the bit a the end but too late because I found the episode unforgettable and bland.
