A missing kid. A rugged hero with a dark past. A mystery solved, and a bad guy nabbed in under an hour. The first episode of Tracker was fun, but it felt a little formulaic. We've seen this type of show before, right?

After a string of records broken on the streaming giant Netflix Top 10, series ‘Wednesday’ starring Jenna Ortega has arrived on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 to do the same.
The Tim Burton-directed series starring Jenna Ortega as the iconic Addams family daughter was watched for nearly 6 billion minutes during the November 21-27 viewing window, during which it was only available for the last five days, reports ‘Variety’.
This marks the second biggest week of streaming ever recorded by Nielsen, following only the first full week of availability of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4, during which the series was watched for 7.2 billion minutes.
It’s also presumable that ‘Wednesday’ will best itself on the chart next week with the measurement of its first full week of availability. According to Netflix’s self-reported numbers, the series jumped from 341.2 million hours watched in its first five days on the streamer to 411.3 million the following week.

By now, it should come as no surprise that Netflix‘s Wednesday generated a massive audience in its opening week. The series landed at the top of Nielsen’s U.S. streaming charts in its first week on Netflix with a massive 5.9B minutes viewed.
That’s the second highest weekly viewing total for a streaming title since the beginning of 2020 — just behind Stranger Things (which generated over 7B minutes viewed in the week following the release of Season 4 Volume 1).
The impressive numbers for Wednesday almost make it easy to look past the four other titles that hit over 1B minutes viewed the week of November 21 to November 27.

Wednesday has already taken its place as one of Netflix’s biggest series based on the streamer’s internal measurement. Now comes outside confirmation of the show’s breakout.
The Addams Family offshoot racked up almost 6 billion minutes — 5.988 billion, to be precise — of viewing time in the United States during its premiere week of Nov. 21-27, according to Nielsen. That’s the second largest week in the two-year history of Nielsen’s weekly rankings, trailing only the 7.2 billion for Stranger Things 4 from May 30-June 5.
The series is just the fourth to pass 5 billion minutes of watch time in a week. Stranger Things has done so three times, while Tiger King and Ozark each did once at the height of pandemic lockdowns in March and April 2020.
The previous week’s top series, The Crown, fell off by about 38 percent, though it still crested the...

I Believe in Santa is a romantic comedy starring Christina Moore y John Ducey. It is directed by Alex Ranarivelo.
Are you expecting another cookie cutter rom-com set in New York? Well, then you are in for a surprise. This flick isn’t set in New York.

Lisa thinks she’s finally met the man of her dreams until she finds out he still believes in Santa Claus.

Five Christmas films dominate the VOD charts, led by “The Grinch” (Universal/3.99), challenged only by “Black Adam” (Warner Bros. Discovery/19.99). However, leading the Netflix chart is “Prisoners,” a 10-year-old Warner Bros. thriller starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal that also served as Denis Villeneuve’s English-language debut.
Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio,” one of Netflix’s high-end holiday originals, ranks #3, behind Sony’s “Bullet Train.”
“Grinch,” along with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (Universal/3.99) and “Elf” (Wbd/3.99), placed on all three charts. Particularly impressive is their showing on Vudu, which calculates by revenue.
Two other holiday titles — “The Holiday” (Sony/3.99) and 47-minute 1964 TV special “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” — also have a single listing. They join “Black Adam,” “Top Gun: Maverick” (Paramount/4.99), and “Ticket to Paradise” (Universal/19.99) among those making all charts.
New are “She Said” (Universal/19.99). Despite its lack of theatrical interest, it’s #2 at Vudu as well as #8 at iTunes.

In a field of Netflix, stands Paramount+’s “Tulsa King” in the latest edition of Samba TV’s Weekly Wrap report providing an exclusive first look at the most-watched movies or individual TV programs from the past seven days across both linear television and streaming.
Notably, the drama from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan was the only non-Netflix program to secure a spot on the most-watched streaming list. Starring three-time Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone, the crime series continues to generate strong viewing interest, potentially from fans of Sheridan’s other mega-hit “Yellowstone”. It’s clear that Paramount and Sheridan have a knack for building robust franchises with an engaged fan base that appears to already be paying strong dividends with each new show and each new season.
But, this week’s list highlights the remarkable staying power of Netflix’s breakout show “Wednesday” and the unofficial start of the holiday programming season.

Don’t let the #1 slot on iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu fool you: There’s lots more going on beyond “Black Adam” (Warner Bros. Discovery/19.99). In a landscape packed with franchise fare and Christmas contenders, “Bullet Train” (Sony/5.99) placed on all three charts and #1 as a new availability at Netflix.
The success of “Bullet Train” also speaks to the value of a film first enjoying a major theatrical presence. Its #1 slot Netflix comes after a 100 million+ domestic gross, followed by multiple weeks of VOD success. It replicates the platform’s immediate interest in Sony’s “Where the Crawdads Sing,” which spent more than a week at #1 (and is still #10).
The battle within that holly-jolly battle: Four Christmas-themed titles occupy nearly a third of the top 10 chart positions. The clear winner is Universal’s 2018 animated “The Grinch” (3.99), which ranks as high as #2 at iTunes, top 10 elsewhere. Universal’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas...

“Black Adam” (Warner Bros. Discovery/19.99) swept the #1 positions on all VOD charts this week. The Dwayne Johnson-starring DC Comics hit (still #6 in theaters over the weekend) is the fall’s second 100 million+ domestic release to reach home availability. The other is “Smile” (Paramount/19.99). Now in its second week, it fell from #1 to #6 at Vudu (which ranks by revenue), is #10 at Google Play, and not listed at all at iTunes (both calculate by transactions).
The difference: “Black Adam” is not streaming on HBO Max. “Smile” is on Paramount +.

Justin Hartley is getting back into the Christmas spirit. After crushing it as Kevin Pearson in the critically-acclaimed TV series “This Is Us”, the 45-year-old actor can next be seen in the Netflix film, “The Noel Diary”. Based on the novel of the same name, “The Noel Diary” marks Hartley’s second holiday-themed movie after “A Bad Moms Christmas”.
“I love the idea of families coming together and sitting down and watching Christmas movies,” Hartley tells Et Canada. “Every single year, I watch “Christmas Vacation”. Memo to studios and streamers: Do you want Charles Shyer, the creative force behind such massive hits as “The Parent Trap” (which he co-wrote) and “Father of the Bride” (which he directed and co-wrote), to direct a movie for you? Let him do it his way, and you’ll be just fine.
After almost 20 years out of the directing game (his previous film was the Jude Law-starring “Alfie” remake in 2004), Shyer returns to the kind of feel-good filmmaking he made his signature, thanks to his early films, like the aforementioned hits and even “Baby Boom,” all co-written with his ex-wife, fellow comedy queen Nancy Meyers. This time, there is something different: The former studio mainstay has alighted for Netflix.

Charles Shyer is back.
The Oscar-nominated screenwriter turned filmmaker has returned to the director’s chair with his first film in years just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, Netflix’s The Noel Diary starring Justin Hartley and Barrett Doss. Based on the book by Richard Paul Evans, Hartley toplines as a best-selling author who returns home at Christmas to settle his estranged mother’s estate, only to encounter a mysterious stranger as well as a diary that may hold the keys to their respective pasts.
Turns out he cast one of his leads with a little help from his longtime collaborator and onetime wife, Nancy Meyers. Married for nearly two decades before splitting in 1999, the pair collaborated on such classic films as Baby Boom, Irreconcilable Differences, Father of the Bride (and its sequel) and Once Upon a Crime. Justin Hartley's relationship with his number one lady - his daughter, Isabella - is strong as ever. Hartley, who is starring in Netflix's forthcoming holiday movie "The Noel Diary," shares his 18-year-old daughter with his first wife, Lindsay Korman, whom he married in 2003. The two met while starring on the soap opera "Passions," got married, and had Isabella, but went their separate ways after eight years together. Hartley's next marriage was to Chrishell Stause of "Selling Sunset" fame. They divorced in 2019 and he married his former "Young and the Restless" costar, Sofia Pernas, in 2021.
Hartley's wife had nothing but nice things to say about her stepdaughter in an April interview with Page Six. "She's so wise. I mean, that girl, she's got it figured out!" Pernas told the outlet at a "This Is Us" event in Los Angeles. "She knows exactly what she wants."

That includes Oscar-winning “Birdman” and “The Revenant” director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s new film “Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths.” Described as an “epic, visually stunning and immersive experience” the film stars Daniel Giménez Cacho as a renowned Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker living in Los Angeles, who, after being named the recipient of a prestigious international award, is compelled to return to his native country, unaware that this simple trip will push him to an existential limit.
Highly anticipated titles like “Blonde,” starring Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe, and Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” are coming to the streaming service as they make their way around the festival circuit. Just as long-awaited are sequels “Enola Holmes 2...

Justin Hartley’s first big project released post-This Is Us will be Netflix’s The Noel Diary, a drama set around the holidays and based on the novel by Richard Paul Evans. Today, Netflix released the first photo featuring Justin Hartley and a canine co-star. The streaming service also announced they’ve set a November 24, 2022 premiere date.
Director Charles Shyer adapted the novel with Rebecca Connor and David Golden.
“I wanted to adapt this novel for a few different reasons. The story of The Noel Diary felt to me like one that could comfortably embrace humor and humanity – while at the same time offer great visual and directorial possibilities. A movie that, as Billy Wilder once said, ‘Could make ’em laugh and make ’em cry.’ I chose to cast Justin Hartley from his work on This Is Us.

Upwards of 85 new films will launch (or have already arrived) on Netflix this year. A few movies made their grand debuts in January, and quite a few more are set to launch at the beginning of this month, but the streaming service is touting its 2022 slate with new movies every week and a robust lineup of actors and filmmakers.
Standout tiles include Shawn Levy’s time-traveling tale, “The Adam Project,” with a cast led by Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldaña, as well as a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion,” starring Dakota Johnson and Henry Golding.
