Match 1: Montel Vontavious Porter vs Jeff Hardy - Fairly good opening match. These two guys have the talent to put on an entertaining match for the fans. MVP at this time was the major heel with Hardy, as always, as the major face. The whole feud was pretty well laid out and the match itself was also very good. MVP takes it to Jeff and gets major fan heat, and Jeff takes it to MVP and the crowd loves it. In the end MVP gets the pin for the win, probably not expected for most to see Jeff Hardy lose at a major pay per view.
Match 2: Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston & Women's Champion Mickie James vs Glamarella (Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix) for the Intercontinental & Women's Championships - In this tag team match, we see both Kofi and Mickie's titles pitted. The match, for what it was, was actually a very good PPV match. Santino is pretty underrated for his ring skills, the man can work a decent match. In the end Beth pins Mickie to win both titles for her and Santino.
Match 3: Mark Henry (c) vs Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship - What a waste. The build up was well done enough for Hardy to go over at this point and win the ECW title from Mark Henry. The match is an astounding 33 seconds, as Matt Hardy wins by disqualification. Mark Henry is still your ECW Champion despite the loss. A dud match.
Match 4: CM Punk (c) vs JBL for the World Heavyweight Championship - Probably an overlooked title match. In my opinion, it made for the best of the three World Championship fights. The match may not have been a Match of the Year candidate, but Punk and JBL put together a nicely done match. JBL works Punk over for most of the match, with the entire match making you wonder whether Punk is a fluke champion. Although in the end he catches the GTS on JBL for the win and retains the title. Not the best, but still nice match.
Match 5: Triple H (c) vs The Great Khali for the WWE Championship - With all the competition on SmackDown, we make The Great Khali the no. 1 contender? A very weak match, Triple H didn't even look good. I'm liking Khali now with his recent face push, but he was pretty low at this point with the entertainment value. Extremely boring match, with lots of "You Can't Wrestle" chants. In the end Triple H hits Khali with a Pedigree to retain the title. Another wasteful match.
Match 6: John Cena vs Batista - Booked as one of the biggest matches in this generation of wrestling's history. Now normally I would call this a fairly average match, but with the entertainment value it was a solid good match. John Cena and Batista trade back and forth for a solid amount of time. It is hard to determine a winner in the midst of the match because both we're getting fair offensive time. In the end Batista is able to get Cena down for the pin. Good match.
Match 7: Undertaker vs Edge in a Hell in a Cell match - The match of the night. It didn't fully live up to promise, but the action was far better than the previous matches. Pretty nice spots from these two, as it was their last encounter of their 2008 rivalry. Undertaker was huge with the crowd, coming off of his recent comeback after being "banished" from the WWE at One Night Stand. Edge surprisingly got some cheers as well for his riveting performance. In the end Undertaker gets the victory, and chokeslams Edge straight to hell. Well booked ending.
