- A man is dragged across the ground by a rope strung around his neck. A character uses the rope to strangle him before hanging the man's corpse from a nearby tree.
- A farmer guts a dead pig with a knife. He then has his son feed the bloody leftovers to a group of hogs, who greedily eat them up on screen.
- A man is shot in the eye.
- A man is killed by an axe to the chest. The body is shown later with the axe still imbedded in him.
- A character is shot through the cheek. He spits out blood as his mouth bleeds.
- A man's leg is repeatedly stomped on after it has been shot. The man screams in pain.

- While not particularly intense for the majority of the film, several scenes depict shootouts and there is unavoidable onscreen violence, as well as minor gore.
- The odds against the protagonist at the climax of the film can be pretty intimidating, and considering the tone of the movie a happy ending cannot be expected.
