What is "Kick-Ass"?

"Kick-Ass" is a comic book written by Mark Millar, with John Romita Jr on the pencils. It tells the story of Dave Lizewski, a boy obsessed with the idea of a super-hero. He lives in a world where the only heroes that exist dwell within the pages of comic books, until Dave decides to change that. "Kick-Ass" shows Dave facing the challenges of becoming a true super hero. It should be noted, that the comic book is gratuitously violent. No word on whether the film will preserve the violence of the comic book.

The MPAA already gave Kick-Ass an "R" rating as the comic book portrays strong violence and pervasive language and the film is most likely to portray those too.
