While listing all the big ape movies, Joe Bob mentions Japanese movie King Kong vs. Frankenstein. However, this movie was never produced. Willis O'Brien, who created the King Kong character, pitched the idea to studios in the 1960s. In it, Dr. Frankenstein would have created a new giant ape-like monster for Kong to go against. The idea was eventually turned into a fleshed-out screenplay (completed by George Worthing Yates) and retitled King Kong vs. Prometheus. Unfortunately for O'Brien, his producer John Beck agreed to Toho company's suggestion to use their own star character, Godzilla, in the film as Kong's foe instead. Sadly, O'Brien never got over the fact that his Kong sequel was shelved for King Kong vs. Godzilla, which came out in 1962.
