Domes of Doom (1991)
Scott Menville: Ma-Ti
Quotes
-
Wheeler : Man, the air here is so fresh. You know what I'd be doing right now if I was in New York?
Ma-Ti : Visiting the tall buildings? Seeing the bright lights?
Wheeler : Sweating, choking on smog.
Ma-Ti : And think how much worse the planet would be without the forest to cool and clean the air.
[Suchi runs over and cackles excitedly, waving his arms frantically]
Ma-Ti : What is it, Suchi?
Wheeler : [they turn in the direction he gestures in] Uh-oh - smoke! This place is starting to *look* like New York!
-
Ma-Ti : The forest gives life to the Indians. You will only be able to farm it for a few years before the soil gives out.
Developer : So? Who cares? Then we just move on.
[they lower their torches toward the trees]
Wheeler : Fire!
[his ring causes the sticks to burn to ash in the men's hands]
Developer : Uh... on second thought, maybe we should move on now!
-
Ma-Ti : Baron Giftus! I must warn you about that man, Argos Bleak. I know him, and he is evil.
Looten Plunder : [disguised] Don't worry, Ma-Ti. I won't let him cause any harm.
[walks off, Ma-Ti starts to go in the opposite direction but stops and gasps]
Ma-Ti : How could he know my name? We have never met. Or have we?
-
Looten Plunder : [spraying him with smog] What's the matter, Cap? You look exhausted.
[laughs]
Ma-Ti : No! Stop!
Looten Plunder : [Suchi jabs a wrench into the machinery, stopping the smoke-release] Uh-ohhhh...
Captain Planet : [stands and starts to run at Plunder] Now that's what I call throwing a monkey-wrench into his plans. Hey, thanks, Suchi.
-
Kwame : [at the Planeteer Alert] Forests and plants are the air conditioners of our planet. They help regulate temperature and humidity, as well as keep the air clean.
Linka : So plant a tree or start a garden in your back yard.
Ma-Ti : Or grow potted plants in your house.
Wheeler : All it takes is a little work, sunlight, and...
Gi : Water!
[uses her ring to wet the garden, and plants start to sprout]
Captain Planet : [placing trees in the yard] The power is yours!
