- Tara and Max are both frustrated by the treatment by Dr. Holden she is undergoing and the inability to access her repressed memories. Max is ready to call it quits and Tara decides the time has come to ask her one-time boyfriend, Trip Johanssen, for a face to face meeting. Max is convinced that Tara was raped by Trip during her time in high school, but during their meeting with Johanssen and his wife, 'T' emerges to explain it all to them. 'T' was present when it all happened. She presents other issues, however, they bring more questions than answers. Meanwhile, Charmaine reassesses her relationship with her new boyfriend, Nick, in light of her feelings. Also, Kate learns that her sexual harassment complaint against Gene does have a consequence when Gene confronts her and reveals his dangerous obsession with her. - Dr. Holden is preparing Tara and Max for their meeting with Tripp and his wife, who have agreed to come to Gateway. Tara thinks not knowing what happened is worse than anything they may learn from Tripp.
Nick (Charmaine's new boyfriend) and the kids are eating a 'miracle fruit' which changes the taste buds. Kate snaps at Marshall for still holding a grudge against Tara. Nick tells Marshall that someday he'll find someone special, like he has in Charmaine. An eavesdropping Charmaine hears this, and we see her send Neil a text message.
The Barnbeez people tell Kate to drop her charges against Gene. Even after she offers a sexually explicit camera phone pic of Gene, the corporate reps tell her she's a girl who "seems to know what she's doing."
Back at home Kate complains about the meeting to Marshall. A friend texts Marshall telling him Jason has been seen with another girl. Marshall admits Kate was right, that Tara, as T, was only trying to protect him.
Tara is nervous before the meeting and they think about calling it off. When Max leaves to get Dr. Holden Marshall shows up and gives her a hug. He forgives her and tells her he loves her.
Tara and Max sit down with Tripp and his wife Judy with Dr. Holden facilitating. Judy offers cookies and Tara ends up taking one. Tara asks for help remembering and Tripp says they were both drunk.
Marshall and Charmaine (who drove Marshall to Gateway) talk in the waiting room. Marshall tells Charmaine he likes Nick better than Neil. Charmaine, who had been nervous about going to a hospital, gets a text telling her to "hang in there."
Gene surprises Kate in her living room and tells her he got fired. He said it was worth it, that he "would lose anything to be with you" and "you're the one." Gene thinks she went to HR to get his attention and wonders if they should run away together. She seems freaked out by the whole situation and sneaks out of the house in Tara's car.
Tripp tells them it happened in early May on a Saturday. He says what happened has been troubling him and has given him sleep problems. This bothers Max, who storms into the hallway. In the hall Tara tells Max he needs to relax.
Marshall and Charmaine talk about Alice. Charmaine thinks Marshall is incredibly normal; Marshall thinks Charmaine is strange for thinking he is normal.
Tripp said the night in question "got out of hand" and admits "I took advantage." As they are wrapping up Tripp says, "See ya, T." Tara and Max seemed stunned by his casual reference to her as 'T' and Tara quickly transitions into T. T tells a stunned room that what happened was "my night" and that she also had sex with one of Tripp's friends as well. Buck shows up briefly to say he would have protected Tara if allowed out that night. As Tripp and Judy leave T tells them that Tripp also had sex with a male friend that night.
In his office Dr. Holden tells Max that what happened with Tripp wasn't what gave Tara the DID. T becomes Alice, who tells them Tara is not listening. Holden and Max speak to Tara through Alice and tell Tara she's safe and strong enough to come out. Alice disagrees, but just a few seconds later Tara appears and says, "I want to go home."
Max and a worn-out Tara greet Charmaine and Marshall in the waiting area. Tara tells them the experience "was a lot of things." On the ride home Marshall cuddles up to sleep on Tara's shoulder and chest.
At dinner that night the family acts artificially polite and reserved. Max asks, "What are we doing?" and takes the gang to the bowling alley. Kate and Marshall get Tara to try the miracle fruit. The family seems to be enjoying its time together. Tara says to Max "you know, it could get worse before it gets better." "I know," he says. The camera pans back and we see all four alters surrounding the family.
